Will listen later. I also downloaded Government Commissions yesterday but haven't had a chance to listen yet.

Listening now.

I'm seeing them live in about two weeks time. Pretty excited about that too.

My first impression is positive. Mogwai never fail to make a solid album.

It's more focused on creating a mood so it's not their typical quiet-loud stuff. But that's fine by me.

I could see that argument on some of the tracks, but it's not so much that I dislike it (in fact, I like those the best). It's not like 65daysofststic's album from last year or anything.

You should listen to it because it's good, and take your y/n checkboxes and stuff them.

There are some electronic influences but you shouldn't expect beats or anything. Still, it's good so just listen to it.

Definitely agree with the consensus that this is a solid album - maybe not as good as Hardcore Will Never Die But You Will, but still really enjoyable. Not sure what Cobbler will make of it, but curious to see. If you like it, definitely check out 65daysofstatic, since they own the whole "let's make post-rock really electronic" thing, and last year's God Is An Astronaut album, which sounds really electronic even though they made it almost entirely on guitars (plus it owns).

"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."

I've only heard Young Team but really enjoyed it. I guess I wouldn't be Cobblering it by listening to this.
