Can someone tell me what the chord is in Ziggy Stardust at about 2:55? It's been used in another song I really like but I can't quite put my finger on it at the moment and it's annoying the hell out of me.

It's a Cmaj7 variant:

e|---0-----
b|---3-----
g|---0-----
d|---2-----
a|---3-----
E|---0-----

You put one finger on the A string (3rd fret), one finger on the D string (2nd fret) and another finger on the B string (3rd fret).

Cmaj7 is fairly popular, I use it a lot myself. I like to go a step further than the above chord shape and put a finger on the high E (3rd fret) as well, it makes for a very pretty, full-sounding chord.

I hear basically the whole track as F#m-Asus2-E-Esus4-E, so no, but those sustained chords do sound a lot like it. I can definitely see what you were going for.

Okay so this was exceptionally difficult. But I went with Five Years, A New Career in a New Town, "Heroes", Always Crashing in the Same Car and Subterraneans...

I am disturbed at the notion that we have 4 out of 5 songs in common.

Ask me again tomorrow and I'd probably have a different five.

Like Arabia deserves to go through on the strength of its second half alone.
