Today my world dawned bright,
I awoke to a brilliant sun,
The sweetly chirping birds,
The last traces of dreams gently
Subsiding like the quiet lapping of
Gentle waves against a boat,
The memories of my yesterdays
Crowding into my psyche,
Images of you enveloping me,
A rapture approaching the
Divinity of the Mona Lisa,
And the promise of today
Stretches languidly before me,
To wake with you on my mind.

I awoke to the damned sun in my eyes,
Wretched crows cackling,
The last vestiges of nightmares finally
Quieting like the sullen cessation of
Malevolent waves now spent,
The memories of my yesterdays
Forcing themselves upon my psyche,
Images of you plaguing me,
A hell approaching the
Depictions of Goya,
And the inevitably of today
Stretches mockingly before me,
To wake with you on my mind.
