2-nil 2-nil 2-nil ...sorry, it's my post-match (footy) midnight presleep chant

here's something I scrawled during a lecture instead of taking notes:

CBGBs?
sleepy babies
keeping us alive
with their company
waste not want not
what we don?t need
won?t hurt us tonight

?cos snow?s melted away - by the sweat that rips
and ice is coloured - by the blood that drips:
it seeps, sings and stains -
stains the fiery words we hear -
words promised from their lips
hold out, hold out honey
?coz by the pricking of my thumbs
gotta save me arse from all the evil in this world
looking around from left to right
knowing where the punch is a coming
slicing through from behind right into my back
Sun?s up in the west and already dead
heat or Cold, North, south wherever whenever
it doesn?t matter, doesn?t matter here
once the gauntlet?s run
it?s run into the ground

some choose to roll
some choose to throw
all wanna let go
to the abandonment of destiny
getting ready to jump off the train when bad winds spin
fingers crossed never to lose
desperate for that elusive win

extinguish this thought -put it out
if things go bad start a riot:
father time here me whine
mother nature play your game
mighty death swing your blade
and here them curse along the aisles:

Dice, Sweetest dice
dropped into the splice of life
Lacta Alea Est!
(...the die is cast)

in the night in the dark
in the screaming yearning for light
we are high
high and nigh
being left to random degenerate mercy of flaming dice

the dice that is life...
