I wrote this poem quite a while ago so anyone who knows me may have read it before, but with Valentine's coming up...
A Valentine Poem for Cynics
Cupid flung an arrow
But it smacked me on the head
Bounced off of me and onto her,
Now she?s his instead.
Cupid tried a second time
And readied his bow so sweetly
Til he caught sight of bigger breasts
And thus missed me completely.
Third time?s a charm, he tried
Again so I would not feel blue,
Missed and shrugged ?I guess there
Isn?t one who?s meant for you?
Cupid tried again and again,
Arrows now crooked and bent
?Knock it off? I yelled to him
But he would not relent.
Arrows he still flung at me,
That tore and bit and pricked,
?Patience, patience,? Cupid cried
?That last one nearly clicked!?
But I had had enough by now
Of this Valentine?s Day farce
So I picked up a fallen arrow
And hit Cupid in the arse.
