"A Dilema: Getting Lost In The Push"

"A Dilema: Getting Lost In The Push"

Keep going,
under the chill of this heavy
season.
I see a smile,
a wink of hope --
a face of something beyond all of this.
Feet on softness, hardness, I don't know what -- and all balance is gone, as
the doorway to my life comes crashing down,
closed --
SLAM!
and it takes so much
to open it, to begin to push it open again
So I close it off,
forgetting the face in the wind.
But I MUST not say goodbye to all that I must be
and I remember:
You must move in the same direction,
in order to get lost in its flow....

(I just wrote this in three minutes. That's probably why it's so bad!)

Hey - it's not bad! I like it!

And I doubt I'd EVER post something I'd written in 3 minutes...my first drafts are horrid! Yours, however, are super!

Scappy,

You're way too kind. You give me way too much credit -- you even assume that the rest of my first drafts are great, even though this is my first on the board! Thank-you.

Amanda,

(I assume that is your name, right? Mind if I call you that? ) Thanks for welcoming me to "poet's corner"! It's fun having people like you around cyberspace....

great!! let's get some more poets in here... I know there are a lot of closet poets out there, I hope more people step up and post their poems... and if you really did this in 3 minutes, I am dying to see what you can do in 4 minutes!!!!!

and it takes so much
to open it, to begin to push it open again
So I close it off

ya, me too...
