Yaay! Let me know how it goes - my b/f and I are planning on going sometime in the next couple of years (his family is Irish), after we get some other destinations out of the way. He joked the other day that we should do Iceland-Ireland-Greece-Portugal and call it the Default Tour.

You going in September? Have you investigated a lot into what the best time of year to go would be? I'm just wondering because it seems like the only options for us would be October of this year or wait until summer of 2013.

I was originally planning May because i wanted to go when the weather would most likely be decent but still avoiding the peak travel season. Summer obviously has the best weather, but was trying to avoid crowds and higher prices as best as I could.

It was recommended to me by an Irish gentleman that I try September instead, that the weather would be better. So I said "all right, September it is."

From my understanding, once fall starts coming, the weather is more likely to be rainy, gray and cold. It could be like that throughout the year, but the odds are more in your favor during May - September, from my understanding.

So, in other words, it's pretty much like Seattle.

You just can't wait until I leave the country, can you? You're trying to hatch some evil plot whereupon I cannot re-enter the US or something, aren't you?

AREN'T YOU?!

You're right. I'm sorry.

I just assume everyone is trying to banish me from my homeland.

Seriously, though - I cannot wait. I can't believe I have another five months of waiting. So very, very excited!

Oh, and I reserved my car this week, too. Man, renting a car in Ireland is wacky.
