So, I just checked. The cats are eating Iams Hairball Care dry cat food.

Elfa, you little rogue, I haven't tried the hairball treatment. Is it effective?

Brush them once in awhile, you lazy bastard

Seriously, brushing will get off all the loose fur, which is what they're ingesting while they wash themselves, which is why they're yacking. Hairball control treats can help, too. Besides the ones mentioned above, I think both Friskies and Whiskas makes them, too.

They're both short haired cats. I've noticed that they do it a lot more when the weather turns cold. Does that mean anything to anyone?

It works pretty well for mine, I have one longhair who gets a blob of it (it's kind of like molasses in consistency) once every other week. The other two are shorthair so they get a blob once a month or so...

They seem to like it.

dude.. you have to brush them and yes it's more common in the colder months. Furminator works great on my cat who is a short hair.

What in the sam hell is a furminator?

And again, Sicy will laugh when she reads that initial post because she knows I spent a shit load of money saving one of their lives a year ago.
