so then we can expand the blame to Bush -- since it started with Reagan. is that what you mean to say?
Yes, but go back one president to Carter. I think Reagan improved our economy, but we probably won't agree on that. After Reagan, Bush Senior started to bring it back down, followed by Clinton, and Bush Junior. Honestly, I'm not going to judge on Obama until after his presidency is over.

If this is your position on the housing meltdown, it's a naive one.

I was referring to the general idea that conservatives are opposed to Obama because he's African American.

That's not true. For the most part, they're opposed to him simply because they're told they should be.

I'm not sure which is worse.

If one fundamentally believes in limited government. And takes radical Islamists at their word when they state they have declared war on us. How could they NOT have serious issues with the way Democrats and the Obama administration have governed the past year?

A great many didn't have troubles to compromise on those fundamentals when under the guise of the war on terror suddenly things were made possible we thought any free society would always be refuting, when the state's budget was entirely ignored to take up huge debts in order to finance two wars, one of which very questionable regarding the original justification for war, and quite a number of things.
The second thing really seems to boild down to philosophy, and the current prevailing philosophy on the Conservative side still seems to be war against anyone at all costs, anything and everything goes, and an utter disrespect for human being with the phony excuse of, "But look what they are doing!".

If one fundamentally believed in limited government they wouldn't be "spreading democracy", it's one of the few things Ron Paul had right, he's one of the few that are consistent about the whole "limited government" idea(well for the most part).

Why do you not believe in our justice system? You believe in it enough to consider an absolute sentence like death, but not enough to convict a terrorist? Where is your consistency? Do you not believe in America?

Terrorists should be stripped off all their rights. Our civilisation has brought it to the point where we go back defining humans worth fundamental, universal rights, and sub-humans threatening our great democracies who have brought it so far that values fought so hard for can just be thrown overboard to justify ours stooping to the level of those we claim fighting. Leading by example, you know?

Why do you refuse to recognize the difference between unlawful enemy combatants and common felons or differentiate between our military and civil judicial systems?

People like Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab weren't mentioned in the SOTU because it's damaging to the administration.

The Christmas Day bomber was Mirandized by Holder/Obama after less than an hour of questioning. Why?
