Okay, seriously now. What colors are you reminded of when listening to certain U2 songs? I was just sitting around listening to Achtung Baby thinking 'Love Is Blindness is so purple!' and I think it would be interesting to get peoples opinions... what colors would you match to the songs? Pick some songs, post, please.

I know this sounds crazy... humor me.

Hm. I've never thought of this before. But you DO kinda get a color thing with some songs

Kite = green.

IALW = yellow

Babyface = purple

Gone = red

Sweetest Thing and Stuck--baby blue (the guitar on both those songs is baby blue)
One, Stay, So Cruel, IGWSHA--pink
Walk On--rich green
Grace--honey brown
WILATW--pretty pink and neon green on a white background
Rejoice--red
Stranger in a Strange Land--iron grey
New Year's Day--white and blue

I would say that with the 90's songs (even the ones I don't like, oddly enough) it's a bit more about colour and often texture, and with the 80's songs it's more to do with shapes and to a certain extent with shades of color. I prefer the 80's music overall, but I also tend to "see" the 80's music more in the colours of the corresponding album covers--in shades, textures and shapes of those colors--than I do with the 90's songs.

Videos also play a major role for some songs, particularly if the first time I heard the song was when I saw the video.

I still want to add my bit though, for fun)
Me and my mom (who is also a big U2 fan) had a discussion about this.. probably.. back in August or July. Quite a while ago. Anyway, I went through albums, stated what colours were for what song and she told me what hers were.. so here are ones I remember.

Sunday Bloody Sunday: red, black, and white
Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me: neon green, a lot of black, a little white
Walk On: Saw the video first so I was influenced -- nice rich green and a little darkish aqua
Zooropa: LOTS of black, neon pink strobe lights (yes, I made up a video for it in my mind), a little off-white, some neon green
Babyface: baby blue, grey
Numb: pink
Daddy's Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car: darkish moss green and black
With or Without You: greyish pink and black
Running to Stand Still: lots of black, some greyish pink (I always imagined a bleak sunrise when I heard this song)
In God's Country: tan, yellow, green, a little black
Where The Streets Have No Name: red and gold and black
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For: same as Streets, but with brown replacing gold
Mysterious Ways: bright purple and pink strobe lights (I heard the song before the video -- funny thing is, when I was little and this song was EVERYWHERE, I liked it a lot! But I didn't get into U2 until last year -- it was a sign, I tell you!

)
The Fly: all the colours on the Achtung Baby disc (I only saw the video in July, and Achtung Baby was my first U2 album and I had nothing to go on for pictures or anything in my mind)
So Cruel: greyish pink and black (what the heck is greyish pink doing in so many U2 songs?)
Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses: brown and black
Even Better Than The Real Thing: bright pink and black
One: black and a little white
Zoo Station: same as The Fly
Pride: red and black
Discotheque: bright orange, bright pink, white and black
Mofo: bright purple shades, a little orange, bright pink
Do You Feel Loved: same as Mofo
Staring at the Sun: orange, a little red, black
Miami: green, white, aqua
Last Night on Earth: a little purple, a lot of bright blue, white
The Playboy Mansion: purple, white, aqua
If You Wear That Velvet Dress: lots of black, a little dark pink
Please: black, a bit of pink
Wake Up Dead Man: black and dark aqua (Pop is a very dark, black record)
Beautiful Day: Saw the video first so I was influenced - blue in all shades, white, a little black
Stuck In A Moment: aqua and white with a little blue
Elevation: Even before I saw the video, this song was VERY blue to me - blue and black
Kite: blue
In A Little While: black, brown and tan
Grace: black and white

Whew.. that was long. Fun, though
