Hello,

Can anybody recommend some high quality bootlegs for Boy and October era performances? I know it's probably stretching it considering the time period but is there anything of soundboard quality out there for these years? What concerts should I look out for? Best of the best please, and again, just need recommendations. Many thanks!!!

Jim

You're in luck, there are more FM broadcasts and soundboards for Boy and October than most other tours and the quality is excellent on most.

Here are some of my favourites

26th Feb 1980 Dublin, National St.
Oct 14th 1980 Hilversum
12th Feb 1981 Den Haag
06th March 1981 Boston (available on itunes)
08th June 1981 Pinkpop, Holland
23rd August 1981 London
30th Oct 1981 Paradiso, Amsterdam
22nd Nov 1981 The Ritz, NY
28th Nov 1981 Hollywood Palladium
13th Dec 1981 Lido Beach NY
17th March 1982 The Ritz NY

Thanks very much for the recommendations!

While we're on the subject, are there any War concerts of similar quality to the Red Rocks show? What would be as good or close in terms of audio quality? Thank you for any suggestions.

Jim

The Complete Boston Tapes from the War Tour is probably the best bootleg from that era....

I believe it's on u2start.com

Another October tour soundboard - 1981-11-04 Berlin, also available as a proshot video.

For the War tour...

1982-12-02 Manchester
1982-12-06 London (these are technically pre-War tour gigs)
1983-03-24 Glasgow FM broadcast
1983-05-06 Boston (Complete Boston Tapes)
1983-05-30 Devore (US Festival) - this is on u2torrents right now
1983-06-05 Morrison (Red Rocks), CO
1983-08-20 Loreley (St. Goarhausen)

A few of those are proshot vids also (Devore, Loreley)
