Since I am listening to a live WOWY with this verse at this very moment, its fitting I should reply.
I'm fairly certain this is Bono's original verse. He's been adding it since the first live WOWY appearances in the Joshua shoes. Occasionally he's added Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" as well, but the "Shine Like Stars" verse is his own.
