U2 Fans Helping Other U2 Fans Get Tickets

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I haven't actually sold anything on stubhub or sold tickets in this modern e-ticket era.

However, I thought that was the point actually that stubhub handles the tickets as a 3rd party broker. So I assume everyone sends the tickets to stubhub and then they send it to buyer. Much like the buyer is sending the money to stubhub, then a week after the show, stubhub sends you the money you got minus their fees.

Okay I'm only on here and not THE facebook -- so is it confirmed that all tickets for seats for U2 will never be allowed for sale on ticketmaster? It seems U2 is doing many of these things correctly.

Except, yes I do wish GA would be easier to give to whoever you want (like me!) Not that it's stopping those tickets from being sold on stubhub -- I guess you are buying what an entire account? Or you have to walk in with them? I don't get it -- and I refuse to find out as I would never be able to handle that. Or pay for that. So why bother.

So far looks that way. The only resale channel TM has active is the face value fan to fan exchange for GAs. Many are selling seats for face on FB and leveraging PayPal goods and services - and sometimes a mod TM account as an extra step - for purchase protection.

When I figure out what is happening with any extras I’ll be posting here first but based on Interference activity, fully expect to end up selling them via one of the FB groups.

It's straight up BS that you can't put them up for sale and get refunded on the card you bought them on once someone else purchases the tix.
If the show were to get cancelled, they refund your CC, why can't they do it in this circumstance?

I’ll add I think they could’ve supported a face value exchange for seated tix, too, but visible scarcity helps them sell the platinum and obstructed tix to the less educated consumer.

agreed re the scalping thing. i certainly dont want to make any money, i just dont want to lose any either! for past tours where i've had a spare ive moved them on at face value to fans through u2.com, but theyre not doing anything this time round.

i did go to a vertigo show with a spare in my hand once. i did actually speak to a tout outside the ground, just to see what they said. when he offered me £5 for it i suggested he take his head for a wobble, and kept it as a souvenir.

i sent all the TM correspondence to the guys at u2songs.com, and they thought the same, i.e. that a solution may yet be provided. my worry on that front is that the clock is ticking and, unless someone is local to vegas, before long it will cease to be viable for lots of fans if they try booking up travel/accom at the last minute

so i talked to a guy i sometimes converse with - let's just call him Bob Sacamano to protect his identity...

He admits it's an issue - caused by complications between US and foreign banks. there are solutions being worked on, but that's not helping anyone today.

so the suggestion was to create an account on a site like https://wise.com/

this will allow you to create a US bank account - which will allow you to complete the transaction. then you can transfer the money into your European account at a favorable rate. not ideal, and you'll end up losing a few bucks, but better than losing everything.

he also said he'd pass on more info if/when a solution becomes available.

Maybe you're right. However, if there had been an actual buyer, I'd expect them to have to pay Stubhub immediately and would expect Stubhub to deliver them immediately.

Instead, they've just been sitting in what I'll call "Transferred but not Accepted" status in Ticketmaster since the day I did the transfer.

Which leads me to believe Stubhub essentially bought them on spec and at some point is going to relist them themselves, at a higher price.

I think you're right.

I bought tickets off StubHub to a baseball game earlier this year and a few hours before first pitch I still had not received them.

I called StubHub and they got in touch with the seller - as the seller had to transfer them. When they did come, they came from the seller.

The one think I could see happening is that maybe StubHub buys up a few tickets in anticipation of needing a few pairs to fulfill the listing guarantees... i.e. a pair to flip to someone in the event that the tickets they actually bought never show up. I could see them seeing a pair just over face and scooping them up to keep in their backup inventory.

But, yea, maybe they're going to flip em.

If you remember the section and row it would be interesting to see if they get relisted at some point, and for how much.

Annoying if stub hub buys them and won’t pay you today vs after show happens.

I'm sure this has been covered, but just noticed that my seats are aisle when I look at U2 seating chart, but when I looked at Postcards, somehow they add more seats to the rows. Also missing section 301... and all of the 100s...

Is this theater magical?

So 100 seats retract? The theater moves? Or is it like a basetkball game and some poor bastard has to move shitty chairs in and out all the time..?

At that shitty basketball or hockey game in midtown Manhattan, the baseline risers all move, and the angle they are installed at can be adjusted for the various sightlines the different events call for.

They also built this magic circular spheroid.

I don't recall MSG losing seats in row in the 300s though... this is some dark magic here.

They’re not going to sell the 100s for a movie; it’s all screen.

If 301 is a far end section it’s possible they’re avoiding selling those as well.

I know everyone knows the facepalm, and clerks, gets all up in arms that new venues will often realize things as construction finishes up, but sometimes new venues realize things as construction finishes up

What?

I'm just confused how my seat can be an aisle on on U2 sphere but in postcards from the edge it's not as the row starts with 1... something is off there no?

I'm just trying to figure out how 5 seats magically disappear... are they there and not selling them? Will there be 5 empty seats to my left during U2?

i NEED TO KNOW.

It is annoying that you have to wait to get paid, but apparently that's their procedure for all listings.

They say it's to make sure the buyer doesn't have any problem with the tickets.

Their email to me says "you don't have to do anything else, just make sure you don't cancel the transfer." So I'm not that worried about getting paid.

The other thing that was interesting was that they have their own Help forums so I poked around in there and people talked about the tickets seemingly sitting in limbo after transfer, and other people said that's common, they often get claimed at the last minute, but nobody pointed to Stubhub scalping as being the reason.

I also did a Google search on Stubhub + their placeholder domain name (applizard) and it didn't turn up anything.

Nicely done!

I'VE COLLECTED THEM ALL (for the trips I'm making), I'M DONE!

I’m so desperate for 9/30 tickets! Did you just happen to check or was it set up beforehand? Thanks!

Happened to check. A friend had just sent me $ for his 12/15 tix and then I checked and just got lucky. Someone must have put 4 up on the exchange, because it was still blue/available for a few min after I snagged 2.

Outstanding. Congratulations!

Would you look at that…
Maximizing capacity in the seated areas for the (sold out) concert, while not selling the far ends for the (undersold) movie experience
