it would have been nice if at least some of the bonus tracks had been tracks that werent played at the mexico concert.

they could of at least put on With Or Without You from Edmonton, since they released it on itunes, it sounds good on there, shame its not complete though, i would like a full version of that, and i bet the video would of been a good feature with it!

They should show us some footage from Sarajevo. That's a legendary concert and they have the footage, so why not?

looks good. i would have liked to have seen:

Miami
The Edge Karoake
Bad
Do You Feel Loved

but you can't always get everything you want.

Finally some info about this upcoming DVD, seems that it will surpass Zoo TV DVD considering the bonuses we're getting! Though the selection is a little bit odd: what's so special about the Edmonton gig, except that it was the first ever filmed popmart show, and why we're getting the second encore from this show instead of karaoke Edge/Miami/Bullet for example?

Well, no one should be surprised.

Edmonton concert, for example, that has these bonus tracks, had Slow Dancing, If God Will Send His Angels (although I wouldn't put those performances anywhere) and MIAMI!!!

Bad and Mothers of the Disappeared from the South America concerts.

Miss Sarajevo from the Sarajevo concert.

All very easy to put on DVD...

I would think maybe the Edge (or U2) want to forget some of those karaoke performances. I thought they were great and funny.

Too bad "A Year In Pop" isn't a bonus :( As much bad press/ratings that show had, you couldn't help being a U2 fan and getting pumped up for the Popmart Tour.

At least on Zoo TV we got 2 songs that we hadn't seen (although it lacked Ultraviolet, Bad, Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses). This one has absolutely nothing new.

I guess to them 3 repeats is as good as 1 unseen song.

Yeah, that was a great documentary. Also, my secret wish list included that feature on The Discovery Channel about the tour (mainly about the tour personnel and setting up the screen and such). I can understand why they left it off, but it would've been nice.

While I'm at it, it looks like Staring At The Sun (Miami Version) and The Road To Sarajevo are repeats from The Best Of 1990-2000 DVD.

But on the positive side: the live tracks from Rotterdam!!! :hyper:  :combust: (OK, so I am biased. :p )
And yes, I think that video for Last Night On Earth (First Night In Hell Mix) has never been shown before. Not that I like that remix so much, but it could be interesting...

It was called "The Professionals - PopMart Roadies" or something along those lines, I have it on tape somewhere and it was indeed very good, I would have liked to see this and A Year In Pop as well...

what happened to miami?! that was a big part of the set for the majority of the tour. anyways, it's nice to see popmart rotterdam on there.

I was really hoping for the A Year In Pop special hosted by Dennis Hopper would be included. I wanted to see again the mess that was Las Vegas.

Then again, I was hoping for then entire Zoo TV special to be included on the Zoo TV dvd. Alas...

Still, multiple shows is pretty cool. After the bonus features included in the Elveation and Vertigo DVD's, I'll take whatever ZooTV and PopMart will give me.

Or, to make a long story short, ditto what the other guy said. :bonodrum:

I wish the DVD had the MOFO footage from Amsterdam MTV Europe Video Awards. It was simply an incendiary performance.

I think the Rotterdam and Edmonton footage is used because the venues had natural daylight during the show. The footage I've seen from Sarajevo and South America is too dark for proper full release. The Mexico footage had secondary lighting(making the crowd visible) so it would look great on VHS/DVD.

I'm still secretly hoping for a glimpse at bald Bono from Vancouver or Seattle. Seattle was the better show. Maybe an easter egg.

Is there a list of all the 97/98 songs performed that are missing from Mexico?

A Year In Pop was a great documentary and would have made a fine extra feature.

The reverse mohawk ... what could have been.

This is great news, i can't wait. If i could go back in time 10 years i would have seen more than just one show, the one i did see (st louis) blew me away. Then again we were so drunk we couldnt remember it as we started drinking at breakfast/brunch and the rest is pretty much a blur. A big giant bright noisy blur, but a blur nontheless.

PoPmart was the exclamation point (!) to the statement made by ZooTV, which is, nobody does it like this, nobody does it this good, EVER! Nobody. Peroid.

I'm glad that in my small way i was part of that, even if i cannot recall most of it. I guess if your going to go out mad like that for a show, what better show than one featuring a giant lemon?

I have both A year in pop and the discovery channel documentry on dvd, but i'm happy to finally replace dvd bootlegs and vcd versions of mexico city with this 2 dvd gem.. i got rid of my vhs 2 years ago
