I was looking through an old(ish - it's marked 13th July 2005) copy of Hot Press, and I found an article about Bono and Barry Devlin from Horslips working on a film called 'The Virgin of Las Vegas'. I googled it, but the only thing that came up was the same article translated into French for u2france.com.

Anyone know where this project went to? Devlin said that "the thing will have more legs at the end of August [2005] when Bono can concentrate his attentions fully on it". But it's April 2007 and still nothing more recent about it. I have my reservations about it just fizzling away seeing as Barry also said that the budget was "reasonably-sized", but it's always a possibility.

Anywho, any information on the matter would be greatly appreciated!

Okay.

I looked up "The Virgin of Las Vegas" on A9 and only found a handful of citations.
The Irish Film Board's "Funding Decisions" page said that in August 2006 Barry
Devlin and Parallel Film Productions were given development financing. Also according
to the Northern Ireland Film and Television Commission's page on the 2007 Mid Ulster
Film Festival, the film is still in development. I guess Devlin hasn't finished the script yet.

I know that isn't much info, but I hope it helps. :)

Ah, fantastic! Reading it again sparked my interest in it, so it's good to know it's still there! Thanks for the info, and yes, welcome! I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.
