That topic name sounds so boring! *nobody opens it*

OK well for school I'm in a group project where we have to do something on social justice. What better way to *spread* the U2 love?!

So I was wondering-- what song should I make part of our presentation? I was thinking Sunday or Peace on earth, but anything else relevant would be great too. SUGGESTIONs, por favor!!

Hmmm, you could do Walk On, and give a bit of background to the lady it was dedicated to...also MLK.

You also have Mothers of the Disappeared...a personal favourite of mine.

Dunno, not much good at this sort of thing...

I also thought of One, cos the sentiment to me is tolerance...I don't need to quote the line do I?

What about Bullet in Blue Sky? It might be more about politics than social justice, but it's the first one that came to mind. Don't count on U2 love rubbing off on your classmates! Last year in American History we watched a video where current bands were singing old protest songs. Long-haired, incredibly sexy Bono came on and nobody understood why I couldn't form coherent sentences! Did I hear you say you're from DC? If so, I go to Sidwell Friends in NW. Y tu?

oooooooooo walk on. that's good. What's the lady's name again? *laziness kicks in* That's not only reeking of *relevance* but it's a pretty song. Somebody get me that lady's name! I'll look up stuff about her

I also have a project on post-modern poetry *puts on specs and Alistar Cook smoking jacket* and I'm thinking we can expand that into not only poetry in its strictest traditional sense, but also things like songs and....well basically another excuse to *spread* the U2 love

I'm going all out for that one.

Bullet the blue sky...*Bono's suggestive sounds* hmm...

Woah! Blast from the past! I live in DC for 13 years, and in high school often played volleyball against Sidwell! I went to the Lycee Rochambeau in Bethesda (French International School), then Georgetown Univ.

Man, it's a small world

awakening- how long ago did you graduate from Gtown? How wierd to think you used to play volleyball in the gym I see every day! Was our team any good? j/k

OK I'm gonna listen to all these songs and look over the lyrics and whatnot. This is the funnest project. Watch me just bring in a big Bono picture or something and go crazy lecturing everyone about Britney spears. *Mona whacks ppl with yardstick*

Yea, freaky, huh?

Your team? Uh, not bad, but it varied from year to year. I think we must have been like 2-2 with Sidwell
