since the holiday season is the time for sharing, why not share the sources of your new found joy ? did you receive a brand new tie or that great pair of slipper socks you have been dying for a whole hour ?

frustrations of not getting what you wanted are also welcome...hey it's Christmas ;-)
happy holidays.

I didnt get much but I did get a new bed to where I am going to go to sleep in right now.

I got:

a pyjama, the latest Harry Potter book (Goblet of fire-i'm reading it right now-and loving it so far!), a beautiful hand-made wooden CD-storage "tower", and a lovely little box to put rings into.

I got lots of sweaters, cause where I live it gets mighty cold. At the ptresent it's 20 degrees. I got some lovely jewelry, and money to spend on myself. I was very blessed this Christmas.

No DVD player

I had been dropping hints about a "Travis" album( some sympathy here girls, I have an allmale family, I suspected they didn't listen)...I got a "Tra....in" CD .I can't stand Train!! but it does start with "Tra"...missed by that much, lol. I have to laugh, otherwise I'd cry, saints preserve me!)

My friend gave me an astrological gardening calendar...I hope to work with it this year, that stuff really does work.

Because of the fires I still haven't visited my parents ans sister. They always find some extraordinarily wonderful gift for me, the most treasured being an assuiti veil from Egypt. So I still have that get-together to look forward to... still a big kid at heart.

yeah, I was hoping for the Travis CD myself, which I didn't get...but I avoided major deceptions by purchasing for myself what I really NEEDED to be there (for example the Elevation DVD). from me to myself...hehehe

but overall a great x-mas, with a brand new Hitachi DVD player...U2 never sounded and looked this good.

My dad got me a mini-box set of "Friends" DVD's. I had no idea why, because I don't even LIKE friends
confused.gif
. But then dad told me that he picked it up because he remembered me telling him that the reason why I fell in love with U2 was because of the Ross n Rachel episode where they *finally* hook up and they play WOWY. (AAAWWW!
smile.gif
Isn't that sweet of dad?!) So I popped the DVD in and started the episode and then they kissed and they played....A FECKING CHEESY ASS MIDI FILE!!

I got realy nice things this christmas
1) A new Mandarina Duck briefcase for my work - i realy need it
2) Two great books - one that I already read, and that's "13 1/2 lives of captain Bluebear" by Walter Moers. It's a fabulous book, you can easily read it to a 10 year old kid, or just read it oyurself like I did - it's just as Rolling Stone caled it, "Sheer lunacy". It's by a german author, and I only found it on english on UK Amazon, and not on a US one... read it, I think that you'll love it.
the second book is "Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay" by Michael Chabon, I like him so I hope that it'll be a good one...
3) a lot of little stuff (radiohead cd - I might be wrong etc...)

Great xmas in all aspects, not only presents

Sorry about no DVD

Hopefully your parents/sis will come through with an extraordinary gift when you get to see them. Sorry you have to wait to see them, but glad everyone seems to be OK.

I love to garden. The astrological gardening calendar sounds really neat! What do you grow?

Miss MacPhisto sorry about your walkman. I'm sure you can exchange it! I think everyone has cycles of good and bad, so I'm sure good things are coming your way!

I got "Passengers"! Even tho I've been a U2fan for over 4 years I haven't been able to get ma hands on it until now... and now I finally have it, and am enjoying it very much!
I like it much more than Zooropa or atyclb...

A book called "Soul Survivor" by Philip Yancey.
A pair of green pants with spangles and designs along the ankles from Nepal (my brother was there this summer)
A figurine from Thailand (he was also there this summer).

That is all. Our family didn't have too much $$ (then again we never do) so it was light on the gifts this year. But none of us minded. It's being together that makes the holiday anyways.

If you want a job done properly...I was in town yesterday and bought "travis..the man who".
YES!!! at last, better late than never.

Boston Anne, i'll find you in another forum/topic so we can talk gardens. I think I suggested somewhere here once we have a "gardenlovers" forum. The idea didn't take off..lol. Just briefly I use moonplanting for vegetables and watering/weeding days. Beautiful consistent rhythm to follow. Keeps you regular, so as to speak.

DVD player! Hooray!

Adam: Look guys, I got a Springfield spoon for my spoon collection.
Edge: Oh boy, here we go...
Bono: Wow, how many is that now Adam?
Adam: Nine. If I didn't have my spoons, I'd go insane.
Bono: Can I see it?
*adam gives bono the spoon, bono throws it away*
Adam: My spoon!
