Just got back from seeing Oasis.

What a show. Hype justified and expectations exceeded. Opening barrage of nine barnstormers, before Noel whips out the acoustic and the sing alongs start. Main set closes with a run of peak Definitely Maybe tunes before the encore is given over to the Morning Glory showstoppers.

Amazing buzz in and out of the stadium. Liam on top form, had a bit of a rant about Bon Jovi for some reason. Noel had his share of highlights, Don’t Look Back in Anger with 80,000 people is something else. 10/10 would recommend.

I wasn't interested in going having never been a big fan, but I know so many people who did and loved seeing the joy, and hearing that they were in the finest of form. As a bunch of these big artists and anniversary tours have become more popular over the past decade, it feels like there's been a very welcome shift away from the more cynical narratives that used to pervade reviews of such shows. I'm very glad we're arriving at a point where people can just enjoy nostalgia tours guilt-free.

yeah, my buddy who ragged on me to no end for going to see the U2 JT30 tour just saw oasis this summer and says it was by far the best concert of his life lol.

If nothing else then it’s a chance for the people who weren’t old enough or born 30 years ago to experience it. By the time I could have gone to see Oasis I was never that interested due to the newer material being showcased and Liam’s general decline. This is essentially Knebworth ‘96 again, perfect.
