I saw Air perform Moon Safari on Tuesday, fantastic show. Their new analog remix / remaster / rerelease of the Virgin Suicides soundtrack is quite nice as well.

Enjoying the new Idlewild album, has some of my favorite songs of theirs in 16 years.

REALLY wish I could see that. I've never been super into Air, but God do I love Moon Safari.

Very good Album, missus got me a signed copy for my Birthday yesterday. Going to see them in Dundee on the 21'st, acoustic show at Fat Sam's.
I'm really hoping that tour America again next year. I saw them back in 2022 two people back from the front of the stage and it was such an amazing experience.

So glad I got to see him perform live. It was 2016, shortly after Black Messiah was released, which I had actually completely forgotten about until today. What a ****ing remarkable album. I absolutely need to spend more time with Brown Sugar and Voodoo. It's sad that his early death probably has ties to his struggles with addiction and fame, and that the Untitled video had a strong negative impact on him from what I've read.

May he rest in power. If you haven't watched this, stop what you're doing. Chills.

I can't remember who here recommended Los Angeles, the album by Lol Tolhurst, Jacknife Lee, Budgie, James Murphy, The Edge, Isaac Brock, Billy Gillespie and about a billion others, but it is really good and cool. I thank whoever it was. A bit criminal it hasn't had wider recognition. And Edge's two tracks are ****ing sick.

hip hop... no longer drives the big cars.
Current Hottest 100

I've always found the charts interesting, but they've been warped since the rise of streaming. Here for example, half of the top 40 is comprised of two complete albums (TS and K-Pop Demon Hunters). Pretty boring. Looking at the rest, the only band I can see is Tame Impala with the other 19 being mostly solo pop acts.

I'm unfamiliar with most of it. Gets me wondering where the protest music is at? W's terms were soundtracked by anti-government hits (Green Day, Eminem, Dixie Chicks, NOFX) but there's been very little for the current guy. I'm holding out hope that the current environment (economy, political division both domestic and international, anger) is ripe for a punk resurgence. Other than Kneecap I'm struggling to see much.
