Ventured out to see ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER over the weekend. Easily PTA's most entertaining film since BOOGIE NIGHTS, my personal favourite since THERE WILL BE BLOOD. I was not prepared for how goofy it was going to be given the subject matter.

There's a lot to take away from this one, the themes and characters lend themselves to a few interpretations. Both sides of the political extremes are skewered and respected, I'd go as far to say that the dreaded horseshoe theory is alluded to, but ultimately it depicts a third point on the spectrum that it truly gets behind. Or you could ignore all that and view it as a film on modern parenting, or a straight up thriller with a climatic car chase directed by the ghost of Hitchcock.

Brilliant film, three stars.

He directed so many good movies and I feel bad about him and his wife. I do feel bad that I just don’t know more about what his wife’s accomplishments in life but glad they’re being highlighted in articles coming out. I was also kind of aware that he was “political” and that he was behind the California initiative that collected funds from the taxation of cigarettes to fund children development programs amongst other more notable causes he championed. With that said it’s just a bummer that people are so entrenched in political ideology and identity that the comment sections in articles about his death are of course deeply rooted in political hate. But here we are.

There are wackos out there who think that Charlie Kirk equals Rob Reiner. No freakin' way. For the first 15 years of my life, I knew Rob Reiner as Meathead from All in the Family. I learned a lot from watching that show. Meathead was no meathead and Archie Bunker was an ignoramus. I wasn't surprised at all by Shitbag's comments about Rob. That's just par for the course. Rob Reiner brought only love and understanding to this world. Things Shitbag knows nothing about.
