LOL, not a pic (duh) but my friend and I saw a meteor explode and sent this to the local news station (we didn't know what the heck we saw, just this giant green ball of light in the sky) and they said it was a meteor.

im trying to do a lot more manual focus. I think I need to have my eyes check cause I think its in focus most of the time, or the subject is moving. Actually its a woman. her house had burned down over night when I stayed in the indian community.

Good job Justin, these as most of your work is beautiful You've a fine eye behind the lens. I think the 3rd photo is in focus and shot the way it was intended. After what you've described the shot to be about I can imagine the thousands of words that would tell that poor woman's life story all summed up in that one photo. Beautiful work, keep it coming. Stay well while on your journey too!

Everyone else, well done, great photos contributed by all!

All photos from my trip to Ecuador. The last photo is of the older lady who lost her house to a fire and propane explosion

How do you get the out of focus background from that distance?
I know it's done with the Aperture setting, but when I do it on the smallest number (2.3 or 3.2 whichever) the background still stays focused.

The only time it goes out of focus it when I use the macro on something really close.

What type of camera do you use? If it's a compact, the smaller sensor size on compacts yields less "bokeh" compared to larger-sensor cameras such as DSLRs, especially DLSRs with full-frame sensors.

All up I think there were 3-4 pods and maybe 15-16 humpback whales.
