I've somehow managed to catch a convenient case of Covid, so will be working from home for the entirety of the Olympics. It's on evening and overnight here, but I've subbed to a great package and catching up every morning.

Some great stuff in the pool of course (Titmus! Marchand!), had a great time watching the skateboarding, handball, gymnastics and judo too.

I hope Simone Biles will be ok with the injury, I'm just watching the replays of the qualifying round and she is incredible regardless.

The NBC coverage in the US is terrible as it usually is. Way too many shots of celebrities in the audience too.

Congratulations to the US men's gymnastics team on the Bronze medal in the all around to end a 16 year drought.

A guy from Worcester MA who looks like Clark Kent and was on the team just for his pommel horse expertise put them over the top for the medal.

Stephen Nedoroscik is what the Olympics are all about. A teammate who did what he did under so much pressure. A guy from Worcester with no national exposure or money or corporate sponsorships/endorsement deals. Known only to gymnastics expert fans.

I read that he's an electrical engineer who solves Rubik's cubes in his downtime at the Olympics. And his parents in the stands, it was all just magic.

I've always loved pommel horse. So much pressure, one tiny mistake and it can be over

Tried to post the video of his routine but of course NBC won't allow it

Ok, so I'm watching gymnastics on Peacock and there are no announcers. I don't know if that's good or bad. Are they doing this in other events? I haven't watched much. Lol!

Shout out to Leon Marchand, two new Olympic records in the span of 2 hours in Butterfly and Breaststroke. And to do that in home waters, perfect.

Excellent display of sportsmanship by Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles when Rebecca Andrade from Brazil won the Gold medal in floor exercise. Rebecca is a phenomenal gymnast.
