... maybe leave again for a few days?

I kid I kid

But no, seriously
If you thought I thought a lifelong happiness could be bestowed upon me, you’re mistaken. I’ve been ready for this disaster from the day we were supposedly good. Still forever grateful to even be where we are. This is a new level… new dimension… of pain. But well equipped to withstand it. Well trained! Can only hope for the best.

and you got to go to the game, too!

i remember it seemed unfathomable in 2004-05 that anyone would ever come close to gretzky's career records.

Who else likes Hockey? I like Hockey!

I like the Toronto Maple Leafs, they are my favorite team!

I also like it when they win more than 4 playoff games. This does not happen very often, I am beginning to feel like they are trolling me.

I used to be a big NHL fan back in the 80's, 90's, and early 2000's. The Islanders are my team. For decades, the team was in disarray. They had this one superstar. He was becoming an Islander legend. He was my favorite player. He eventually became a free agent. The Islanders still had some uncertainty in regard to an arena. He signed with Toronto as a result. He was the reason I gave a shit about the Isles. I understood why he left. I was just sad that he was no longer on the team. After that, my interest in the league has waned.

Yeah, the Tavares signing was one of the rare times a legitimate "star player" chose to come to Toronto rather than sign somewhere else or even worse, leave. So while I feel the opposite about that situation I can very much understand the pain from other side. We routinely loose our stars in Toronto, especially with the Blue Jays and Raptors...

When JT left Long Island, it wasn't just the arena uncertainty that prompted his departure. He definitely dreamed of playing for the Leafs. And good for him. I have no ill will towards him. Shortly after he left, though, the Isles finally got a new and proper arena. Oh, what might have been. Lol!
