I think the "the refs play for the Chiefs" people are stupid.
That said - we need a fix for yardage situations. It could be as simple as changing the criteria for overturning from "clear" to "more likely than not." Could also be that the change is that the refs don't even make a call one way or the other on the field unless it was clear.
It seemed like Allen got over the line. But it certainly wasn't clear. If no call was made on the field, the refs would probably have decided that Allen got the first down. But because the criteria is that it has to be clear and obvious that he did, there's no way to change that call because you can't be 100% certain that the ball crossed the line because of how many people are bunched together.
It's also kind of absurd that tennis can figure out if a ball being hit 120 mph is in or out within 5 seconds of a challenge but the NFL can't figure out if the ball crossed the first down marker in a 10 minute review.
