New Album Discussion 1 - Songs of..... - Unreasonable guitar album

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

Watching Stories of Surrender now (which is really great) and I am wondering how much of this introspective period of Bono’s life and band history will shape the lyrical content and sound of the next album.

Now I’m pissed.

Haven’t seen Bono’s movie yet, but just listened to the version of Sunday Bloody Sunday from it. It’s…beautiful. Well sung. Perfectly arranged.

Why was Songs of Surrender not more like this?!

I'm 1 minute into the Apple TV thing and I don't know, first thought is that this is kind of cringey and embarrassing. Like as in I'm laughing at his acting pretty hard.

Ok it's getting better. That opening was just so over the top that I thought it was going to be a full hour of really bad acting.

I don't think a non U2 fan would like this at all though.

The circle glasses to me (and yes, I think they're a bad choice) come off as a throwback to Lennon and just a bigger indication he thinks he's a god of songwriting these days the way I've always felt Liam Gallagher wore them as well.

Now this begs the question of what kind of McCartney-ism could Edge add to his wardrobe? Maybe he just needs to start doing the head wobble as he plays.

Dumb question... did anyone here not go to his show - or genuinely doesn't know what to expect from this? I know some people did sneak their devices in and record the show, but I'm not sure how many of us hard-cores are going in blind to this!

Edit: Just in case, this wasn't a criticism at all, haha. I was just curious, that's all!

I didn't go or really pay attention to the solo shows, so this is my first exposure to it.

i didn't go - timing just never worked out.

i've listened to one of the IEM rips - so i'm not totally blind. but haven't watched any youtube videos or anything like that - so partially blind.
