Well it was last night, and they didn't.note: "The iconic band is also set to perform tonight."
take with a mountain of salt.. but maybe?
Nirvana did, though, which was certainly not on my bingo card.

I thought I saw it was supposed to livestream on Max, but when I turned on Max there wasn't anything about it; at least not in an obvious place. Did anybody see any of it? How was it? (Asking about the event itself, not the U2 rumored performance that didn't happen or hasn't happened yet)
Another year. How has this happened.
I'm now utterly confused as to what gift actually related to what year. Have I had a "gift" every year? No idea. I think I'd still be due the second volume of lyrics even if I didn't renew?
I know Sphere tickets were a mess at first but they saw us good in the end. So I guess I'll resubscribe?
They are as usual a full year plus behind on their subscriber "gift". I ordered lyrics volume 2 last year when I renewed. Still have not received it. Now my "gift" options are volume 1 which I have from 2 years ago or volume 2 which I am awaiting from last year.Another year. How has this happened.

They did not appear but donated a million bucks. They were promoting the event on socials. Assume it didn’t happen?
Hope we'll see a song with the quality like this again in the future....Today I listened to Mercy, and it was the first time I was like, huh, Luckiest Man in the World might even be better.
Weird. You quoted dan_smee but it says it was laz. They did not appear but donated a million bucks.

I know that Nirvana was a band with 3 members and it was more than just one person, but it still seems odd to see it described as "Nirvana performed last night."Nirvana did, though, which was certainly not on my bingo card.
well - it wasn't called the Kurt Cobain Experience - so i'm not sure that's exactly the same.I know that Nirvana was a band with 3 members and it was more than just one person, but it still seems odd to see it described as "Nirvana performed last night."
It'd be like if, say in 2001, Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell performed at a 9/11 benefit with an all-star lineup of guitarists/vocalists and the headline was "The Jimi Hendrix Experience performed last night."
I barely listen to U2 but I have listened to Luckiest Man In The World a good amount of times and it's gotten to the point where I'm familiar and good with the changes, and don't feel the need to go back to the original Mercy.Today I listened to Mercy, and it was the first time I was like, huh, Luckiest Man in the World might even be better.
This. That Sphere book they took pre-orders on a couple weeks ago should be this year's subscriber "gift".
Yes this is probably more what I meant — I've spent enough time with Luckiest Man now that when I played Mercy the other day the Luckiest Man lines were automatically jumping into my head, so I feel you on not necessarily needing to go back to the old Mercy. Glad we have both. They've been using the track in social media clips, I hope that when they tour next it's a staple.I barely listen to U2 but I have listened to Luckiest Man In The World a good amount of times and it's gotten to the point where I'm familiar and good with the changes, and don't feel the need to go back to the original Mercy.
Eh, it may as well have been. Perhaps a better example would have been Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers running through a few songs with some popular bassists/vocalists and calling it The Police.well - it wasn't called the Kurt Cobain Experience - so i'm not sure that's exactly the same.
I still have a few issues with the mixing and - unfortunately - the line "the luckiest man in the world." It's just clunky to me. "Love is gone again, I'll be gone again..." flows better. I'm not married to the lyric, but the cadence is important to me. I also miss the "love is the end of history..." part. Though I do understand why the axed it - that "LOVE. HEARS. WHEN I LIE." is 'bigger' sounding, so it makes sense for that to lead the final chorus. I kinda wish they would have given us both - "LOVE HEARS WHEN I LIE..." into "Love is the end of history..." or something like that, a double chorus. But I'm just picking nits at this point.Yes this is probably more what I meant — I've spent enough time with Luckiest Man now that when I played Mercy the other day the Luckiest Man lines were automatically jumping into my head, so I feel you on not necessarily needing to go back to the old Mercy.
