New Album Discussion 1 - Songs of..... - Unreasonable guitar album

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

selfishly, I'd love U2 at Sphere a semi-regular thing until they're unable to perform. it's such a perfect long weekend and the venue let's them do everything they've gotten really good at doing since Zoo TV.

but, yeah-yeah-yeah, "other countries exist" and stuff.

this by far gets me the most excited...

i feel like this will either result in a) a more irish feel to the next U2 record, which would be awesome... or b) bono and the edge go on an irish folk side project kick, possibly with some shows at Sphere.
Lol there is absolutely no chance any of this stuff will see the light of day. I'm sure it's quite great, but because they're rich, surrounded by yes men and are so desperate to be relevant, they will over tinker with it, decided it's not worth releasing and we'll get another mediocre record with awful singles, and maybe one-and-a-half to two decent tracks at best.

Thanks for your positivity

Or they’re not really a band anymore and don’t care

Even the idea that Bono and edge are still trying to be creative etc

Either one of them could have put something out there.

SOS was not something that would take years to do

I'd love to see a good collab with "Frames" era Hansard. Irish tinged rock with some synths here and there.

Aside from the fact that it's been done already...

U2, Stay out of the Sphere, get Larry on board and bring on a new Irish orientated new album in the coming year.

I know their descriptions of their work don't really amount to that much, but I have to say: the thoughts of U2 taking on Irish folk music fills me with despair. Same goes for the reference to the Frames. (And I say this as someone who saw the Frames three or four times, mainly by simply being in the same venue, when they were in their pomp).

I mean this in the utmost respect...

who cares?

Yes, I get it - they need to tour the world and not everyone can travel to see them. Completely understand.

But if they do that and still do an occasional Sphere mini residency - who cares if they've already done one of the show is different?

They toured the same stage in arenas in pretty much all of the 2000s and then again in the 2010s (with even less variation from the previous).

It may be time to mount a full frontal assault on Windmill Lane.
