terrible headache hot takes exposed - one eighth of the way into the season edition...

  1. there appears to be no possible outlier scenario to the celtics. they're just good and tatum and brown are fine.
  2. kenny atkinson is, indeed, the leader in the clubhouse for coach of the year
  3. Mavs run last year does, indeed, appear to be a little fluky - at least so far
  4. Nuggets are ok and need help - but Jokic is indeed the best player in the world and it's not even close. they're in the Cooper Flagg sweepstakes without him.
  5. Indiana's case as the new version of the 2019 Atlanta Hawks is alive and well
  6. Clippers hanging on as T-Lue is a great coach. So not an epic disaster just yet. The team Paul George left them for though...
  7. Bronny is, indeed, a joke. AD's playing at a super high level. We'll see what happens when the injuries start to plie up. Their point differential is positive - but barely. They seem like a .500 team that's just been lucky in close games so far (because they always get a lot of home games early because of the inevitable Grammy award road trip).
  8. Butler's been meh, as have the Miami Heat. Yet they're the 6 seed today because the east is god awful
  9. So about Milwaukee making a run for a top 4 seed... could be worse, i suppose. They're technically only 3 games out of the 4 seed, and they aren't Philly.
  10. Minnesota's been one of the early disappointments. they haven't been able to put it together yet - but i think there's still time to turn it around. Crazy how they're an 8 seed with their record - and the Knicks are a 4 seed with the exact same record.
  11. The Pelicans are not serious people.
  12. Knicks offense is much better, but their defense is much much worse. they need Robinson back, or a viable replacement.
  13. OKC doing OKC things - but need to figure out their big man situation. Chet is always hurt. Let's see what Hartenstein brings - but they may need to make a trade at some point.
  14. Impressive how Orlando's been able to stay good since Banchero has gone down. Very deep roster.
  15. The Philadelphia 76ers are an unmitigated disaster and I don't think they ever pull themselves out of it. Embiid looks awful. That contract may end up being the worst in NBA history when it's all said and done. If you think he's going to all of a sudden start taking his fitness serious AFTER he's been paid, i don't know what to tell you. It couldn't possibly be going worse for them. Daryl Morey has to be shitting his pants every time he looks over at his owner spending every waking moment with Washington Commanders "advisor" Bob Myers.
  16. Suns got off hot and have predictably petered out as the injuries start to hit. They're not the 76ers - but they're only as good as the health of their stars. Beal is NEVER healthy, and KD is old. They're 9 and 6, but have a negative point differential.
  17. Bad News - the Hawks have a losing record. Good News - they're currently the 5 seed in the east because the East is awful!
  18. I've given up predicting what Brooklyn is doing. They started off hot but have cooled down considerably. Still think they're in tank mode and will eventually start selling off whatever pieces they have.
  19. The play in tournament was not designed to get a 5 and 8 Charlotte team into the post-season - yet here we are.
  20. Another year of sub-mediocrity for Chicago. Bad, but not quite bad enough. Which in reality is exactly where they want to be this year since they don't own their pick.
  21. Much like the Hawks... bad is good in the eastern conference. they're looking like a probable play in team and may even sneak into the top 6.
  22. Warriors are looking fast and deep early, and Steph looks like Steph. Will see how long it lasts but early returns look promising.
  23. Houston looks solid. That's about all i got.
  24. Good early returns. Their point differential says that they're better than their record - and their record is over .500
  25. Portland is.. i dunno... slightly better? They're only a game behind Dallas. But they're not really good, either. Weird team. Clingan struggled early but had a monster game the other day.
  26. Kings gonna Kings.
  27. Wemby's gotten off to a slow start. When he starts putting it together they should rise into a playoff spot.
  28. Raptors kinda blow.
  29. Counting down the days until Utah trades Markkanen. They are fully on board "Record in the pooper for Cooper"
  30. Wizards may not win another game until Christmas - and somehow are only the second worst team in the east right now (have I mentioned that Philly is dog shit? 'cause they're dog shit).
  31. Nobody really saw Jaylen Wells coming. Let's see if he can keep it up. Eddy has been good. Bub Carrington looks like a steal. Dunn and McCain are coming on strong.
  32. ESPN saves the day (and Inside The NBA).
  33. Shams taking over for Woj still doesn't matter, other than that Shams is really annoying.
