Mikal... there's a world that exists where you got Cooper Flagg last night.
Crazy to think that it is a real possibility.

I also 100% believe that Giannis is going to be granted a trade. And I'm okay with it. He brought Milwaukee a championship and amazing memories. I think he deserves to play for a contender and win another ring. And I'll actually cheer him on whichever team he goes to.

Even with a player that good, it's so hard for a small Market too consistently compete, so I'm proud of how Milwaukee through all their eggs in a basket to try to get him as many titles as possible. But it's probably time to move on and try to stay competitive even without a generational player. Most likely going to be very long years before we're competitive again though.

it's going to be interesting.

it's not crazy at all to think that either Dallas or San Antonio - or possibly both - will give serious consideration to dangling the top 2 picks for Giannis - or, if he becomes available, Devin Booker.

Knicks: GM trades or lose in free agency all their toughness (and assets) for a big who doesn't like to play like a big and a wing who celebrates every dumb shot in the first quarter but disappears in the fourth.

Knicks Fans: why did Thibs do this?

The lunacy is crazy. Knicks just simply aren't as good as they were last year, and sorry, Cade Cunningham is better than Jalen Brunson. He just probably doesn't realize it yet, and that's their saving grace.

Leon Rose gave up all of their assets for Mikal Bridges - who has not lived up to expectations and while he may be better than DiVincenzo is no where near as tough as DiVincenzo was - who was given up for KAT, who may be a bigger talent than anything that went out but is also lacking in toughness and assertiveness. Ant said so himself. We should have listened.

But the biggest loss of all was Hartenstein. Letting him walk for nothing was one thing. It would have been hard to match salary.

But let him walk and making zero attempt to replace his production was just mind numbingly stupid. You needed another big, especially with Robinson's health issues - and you never got him. Didn't need prime Shaq, just needed a serviceable guy who was tough and would crash the offensive glass. Everything else could have fallen into place with one more piece - a hustling, tough, backup center.

Knicks will lose to Detroit. Dolan will fire Thibs. And the Knicks still won't be as good as Boston or Cleveland unless they make some moves.
i never said i knew what i was talking about.

Not for nothing, it should read true now. Boston absolutely shit those first two games away and should have been going for a sweep last night. Instead - well - here we are.

And for all the Thibs haters bashing him left and right over minutes... the healthiest team, and the most efficient team in the 4th all playoffs long? The New York Knicks.

It's almost like playing a lot prepares your body for having to, ya know, play a lot.

ehhhh i'm not fully sold on their path being easy. OKC needed 7 games to beat a highly flawed Denver team who just fired their coach a month ago. yes, they dismantled them in the second half - but much like the Knicks dismantling the Celtics in game 6, it comes with some pretty large caveats.

Minnesota is peaking right now. they have no fear of OKC and don't mind the physicality that they'll bring.

All I can say is that this final 4 is is awesome. 3 teams that have never won and NBA Championship and 1 team that hasn't won one in over 50 years. And only one of those teams is a big market. I feel like this is good for the NBA.

Could be terrible for the NBA and ABC/ESPN if the Pacers beat the Knicks. Could be a very low rated series. Might be fantastic basketball, but how many folks would tune in to see Indiana vs Minnesota or OKC?

New York vs. Minnesota has the most storylines, the biggest market, and the most marketable star - so if that's what happens, your NBA Twitter Tin Foil Hat Wearers will be having a field day with their stupidity.

OKC vs. Indiana would probably be a ratings nightmare - but would also probably present the most fun basketball we've seen in an NBA Finals in a long time - as both teams play with great pace.

but it is why i raised a stink about pushing the same tired old stars on Christmas. they're not the future of the league - and you need to start creating the future, unless you want to see a mighty drop off once these guys mercifully leave us.

the league is chock full of marketable young stars - it's time the league's marketing arm embraced that fact and stopped pushing the lebrons and currys of the world so hard.

Give me Minny vs New York. KAT vs Randle; the Villanova boys vs Donte; Brunson vs Ant. It would be so fun.

Yes, this too. Bob Dylan vs Velvet Underground. Prince vs. Talking Heads.
