the "city"
hey Tackleberry,

I was at the show, I am almost positive, at the end of Stay he says - "just the bang and the clatter of this extraordinary town( or maybe city)"

That performance of Stay was, indeed, extraordinary. I was literally right below Bono in the first row outside of the heart. His eyes were welled up with tears and he had such ache in his face. Unless Bono is truly an actor, he seemed very affected by the song and the atmosphere.

Thanks for the reminder of that. For the most part, my elevation experiences are all kind of blurring together. But, I remember that performance well.

Hey Tackleberry (good name by the way!),

I was at the show too. I remember that moment well, and I was able to download the show from u2france.com awhile back to help keep the memory alive. The line goes:

...just the bang and the clatter in the most extraordinary town...

*shivers*

For those of you who were either at that show or own a bootleg of it, I want to know something about their performance of "Stay"

I remember how beautiful it was with Bono wearing the FDNY hat and all, but I can't remember what he said at the end of the song. U know the lyric that usually goes, "3 O'clock in the morning, Its quiet and there's no one around, just the bang and the clatter..."

Well, I remember he changed the end to something different, something about the "city"??

Does anyone remember???
