if it's any consolation you get two very good prospects back.
i'm glad, even with the evil west coast empire sitting out there, that the Mets aren't just sitting back and hoarding prospects anymore. we built up the #1 ranked farm system - either play 'em or move 'em for guys with proven track records. our inability to do that last year is what led to the disappointing end. they're going for it, and i don't think we're done.
McLean and Benge seem to be untouchable. McLean tracks as, at worse, a #2 starter - and clearly has the stuff of an ace. his movement is absurd.
but even with these moves... Mets still have the #8 first base prospect, the #3 third base prospect, the #5 outfield prospect, and the #1 and #7 pitching prospects. not to mention a glut of recent top prospects turned young major league infielders in Baty, Vientos and Mauricio - two of whom you would imagine still need to be on the move before spring training.
