I didn't make it through the 8th. It's sad. When I was younger, I would have stayed up all night for a World Series game, no matter how long. Baseball is my favorite sport and it's not even close. But as an adult- and with kids 5 and 2- I just can't do it anymore. 😆

Some amazing plays in that game, though. Two very evenly-matched teams.

I'm just going to be so happy for the Dodgers if they win. Talk about a team that has overcome adversity, doesn't have the money to spend on a talented roster, and exceeding expectations.

I'm torn as to who to root for. The Dodgers could be in the middle of a dynasty. The Jays are repping Canada and I love Canada, so it would be cool if they won. Plus, it's been a while for them. I'm really just rooting for an exciting Series I suppose. Watching Ohtani has been awesome.

Jays fans showed up hard tonight. total opposite to the jabronis who just came to buy a world series hat on monday.

There are only two teams I root for over the Dodgers: the Cubs, as a born-and-raised fan, and the Blue Jays, going back to the late 80s when my family took a road trip to Toronto. I actually saw games at both Exhibition Stadium and Skydome, and bought a Blue Jays home jersey on our second trip to the city Because the Cubs were perennial losers, seeing the Jays win back to back in 92/93 was as close to baseball nirvana as I thought I was ever going to get.

Really happy that they finally made it back to the Series and are competing against this big money team. The whole thing could have been over tonight if Lukes just would have let Chokin' Kershaw walk in a run in as he was clearly trying to do in his true playoff form back in Game 3.

Yesavage has pretty much stolen the historic thunder from Ohtani, which is pretty impressive.

With Yamamoto pitching Game 6 I'm assuming this goes to 7, but you never know. It's just hard to argue that the Dodgers are the superior team with the staggering run differential.

A friendly reminder that the Dodgers are a buzzsaw who sleepwalked through most of the season because they could.

I mean... their starting pitcher last night threw 6 shutout innings, struck out 10... oh and went 3 for 3 with a walk and three home runs.

They would have done the exact same thing to the Cubs or Phillies, and will likely do the same thing to Seattle or Toronto.

And then Laz will drop by, post a Jack Nicholson gif and act like he's been here the whole time.
You're early.

A lot has to go right for LA for this to happen, but just hypothetically:

Let’s say they win game 6 and are up big in game 7- like 9-2 entering the 9th. Does Roberts bring in Kershaw to close it out? I’m no Dodger fan, but that would be cool to see.

if the opportunity presents itself, i would say yes.

the more intriguing hypothetical is what Roberts plans to do with Ohtani in a Game 7. he'll want him to be available to pitch - which means he's either an opener in a bullpen game, or they're putting Ohtani in the outfield so that they don't lose that DH spot if they need him to pitch in, say, the 7th inning.

people on the local 6pm news tonight were predicting a 7-5 and 4-1 jays victory but let's be real, there was always at least an 80%+ chance of LA winning this game with yoshi starting. no way in **** was he going to allow 4+ runs. right now that guy is about as locked in as a pitcher can possibly get and nobody should be surprised at this outcome.

tomorrow will be a fun saturday night.

Unfortunately, I suspect the Dodgers have this. Ohtani, Glasnow, probably Yamamoto. You can beat one of them on a given night, likely not all of them.

If they win, they better not give Ohtani MVP over Yamamoto, unless his play tonight demands it.

I'd be inconsolable. As someone with no iron in the fire, though, this Series was great. The Jays had multiple chances to put LA away and couldn't get the job down. The Dodgers earned this championship.

The Jays had numerous chances to win the Series. They were up 3-0 early in the game and just couldn't put the Dodgers away. It was an exciting Series. I watched every game. Usually, I tune in and out of the games. But this year I kept the channel on the Series and didn't watch anything else.

Yeah, what a series. Really didn’t want the Dodgers to win, but the Jays had chances to win and didn’t finish the job.

Only thing I can think of that could relate to that from my own perspective would be 2006 vs the Cardinals. Almost 20 years later that game still haunts me.

Blue Jays fans are going to be feeling this one for a long, long time.

I'm just so happy for the Dodgers, overcoming salary cap woes to somehow keep the roster intact. Great cap management. Huge kudos.
