Anyways, coverage I think is on BBC in 5 days! (9th March)

I wonder if it will be on BBC America. Last night they showed the Top of the Pops Awards from November. I just happened to be flipping by and caught U2's taped acceptance for best Rock. It was sooo cute with Bono singing that silly little song and the band doing the doo-wops

It's about 20 minutes into the show. It's really funny. Look in your local listings to see when it's reairing I think BBC America is rerunning it all this week. I was looking for the Meteor awards on March 9 and saw that the Top of the Pops awards is on that day. (No Meteor Awards though, probably won't ever see them here

)

They aren't on again after that. Kylie Minogue wins best concert

which is the only other thing they were nominated for.

they just won best irish live show....and bono said something about all he could see was his father's face in the crowd that night when they played at slane and thanked the crowd for helping him get through that time.....then larry talked and said something like the band will never forget those two gigs at slane

So far, U2 (or people involved in U2) have won 8 awards....Unfortunately Bono does not win the Humanitarian award which goes to Christina Noble.

Best Irish Live Performance
Best Irish Rock Album - ATYCLB
Best Irish Musician - EDGE!!!!
Best Irish Songwriter - Bono
Best Irish Rock Single - Walk On
Irish Industry Award - Paul McGuiness

Gee! I wouldn't be surprised if U2 shot to No. 1 with this bag of awards!
Amazingly despite the fact that they had 3 songs nominated for Best Rock Single...they still won!
I don't think it's all over yet though.....the website doesn't show ALL the main categories, so.......well...I'm stumped, maybe it ain't over.

Anyway.....it just goes to show that the Irish not only have taste in Beer, but in Music as well!

I was there last night with Rosa, we got to the very front just underneath the guys.

I don't know if anyone heard it but its being televised this week on irish TV and then on VH1.

Some of the highlights:

1. Edge with beard
2. Larry's two speeches
3. The eight or so awards they won. I think they won everything they were nominated in.
4. Paul McGuinness - including highlights showing a lot of early footage of the band I hadn't seen before.
5. Bonos anecdotes, particularly "if you've got something to say, then don't shut up"

Lowlights.
1. Enrique fans screaming
2. Westlife fans screaming
3. U2 not performing

The cranberries were cool in performance, as was Muse, complete psycho bashing gutar and amp finale, and the Corrs looked as hot as ever.

Must watch.

LOL that was so much fun!!! hey zoomerang II! I'm still a bit deaf from last night... we were surrounded by hundreds of Westlife fans screaming all night... gosh that was hard to handle!

The special award to Christina Noble for her work with children in Vietnan was cool even though Andrea Corr messed her speech up... Bono laughed during Ronan's performance, have you seen that? lol they were having a ball...
