thought this might get some attention. I was watching the elevation video of UTEOTW and pondered. The fight between bono and the edge at the end of this song has been refered to as a bull fight. I can see how people would think this especialy after seeing it on popmart. I don't know if anyone has addresed this before. and I may be stating what everybody knows, but I seem to feel that this battle is the battle between God and the devil at the end of the world. the edges guitar seemes to be some spiritual weapon that slays the evil one at the end of the world, and the screeching sound that bono makes by kicking and sliding his microphone agianst the strings makes it sound like the screems of satan as he is pushed into the lake of fire. Seeing it this way when I watch it makes it even more dramatic.

You can dream, But you can never go back the way you came

at the end of the song it looks as if Bono is trying to exorcise Edge's guitar

I always took it that Bono was Judas and Edge was God...still the Good versus Evil thing...hmmm...many interpretations.

I'm not sure about your theory. No disrespect, but it sounds a bit far-fetched (hm is that the correct word..?)to me.
sometimes people have a tendency to overanalyze things. maybe it's just wishful thinking since I'm not all comfortable with the whole good vs. evil concept. I dunno, maybe you're right.

i think sometimes people DON'T give U2 enough credit. They are very smart, very savvy, intelligent men and great performers. The things they sing about and do onstage can have many levels of meaning. I don't think it is at all a stretch of the imagination to say that the "bullfight" especially when placed within the context of the song UTEOTW (remember Bono yelling "Jesus, this is Judas!" at the beginning?) could be a "good vs. evil" metaphor. It is not at all far-fetched, imo.
