I just heard it on the radio, say it ain't so!!!!

My local DJ announced that U2 would be playing halftime at the Super Bowl and that they would be performing a duet with- MARIAH CAREY!!

Okay so it's a step up from Britney (maybe) but it's not something I look forward to. She's cheesy, moany, annoying and not up to their standards or worthy to share the stage with them. I will stop now in fear of flames so what do you guys think?

Not true. Don't worry. Mariah was announced as the singer of the national anthem at The Bowl this year and I don't remember the national anthem singer ever being part of the halftime show as well.

NO I CAN'T! That's why I was having a panic attack! He distinctly said after a U2 song "U2 will be performing halftime at the Super Bowl and Mariah Carey will be there, performing with them!"

I don't think Mariah Carey's voice is that bad at all. I'm not a fan of hers or anything (I have one of her CD's, but I have no clue how it got there...I think a friend left it behind), but I've heard tons of her songs. I'm sure she can sing a lot better than many of us (all of us, probably) could.

Oh yeah...I DO remember where that CD came from...when my mom moved out when my parents were divorced, she left behind some CD's, so I just stuck them in my CD rack for a place to put them. I guess when they got remarried and Mom moved back home that I forgot to give her her CD's back.

I agree Bonochick, I'am not a fan of Mariah at all and dont own any of her CD's but she can sing. So even if it was true (which it is not) I dont think it would be that big of a deal. Its not like they announced a Britney with Backstreet Boys and N Sync performing with U2. Now THAT would be very troublesome.

Okay, and remember that Radio DJ's very often get shit very very very wrong.

The Star-Spangled Banner will be sung at the beginning of the SB, not in the middle. And I really doubt U2 would agree to sing with her, much less who knows what the hell they would sing.

logic would suggest this but i have witnessed many a star at many a sporting event murdering(and not in the edge sense of the word) both yours and mine national anthems.

You know...DJs have been known to be wrong before.

I take "and Mariah Carey will be there with them" to mean that she'll also be performing at the superbowl. And since it was announced she was doing the star spangled banner, I doubt she'll be coming back up with U2. The DJ probably just read off a sheet that U2 and Mariah Carey will be at the superbowl, and worded it his own way.

Nothing to worry about folks..........I think.
