I wanted to see what everyone's favorite guitar riffs were from the album ... both guitarists and non-guitarists. here are my favorite (in no particular order):

- harmonics in the bridge in vertigo
- the high melody guitar in oots -- gorgeous
- the rhythm guitar distortion in the final chorus of vertigo (very cool effect ... a full sound that seems to cover three octaves of notes on the guitar)
- The note edge plays at 4:31 in lapoe ... a nice bridge from minor to major in the melody guitar due to the bass/simple chord driven music instead of the full minor/major chords.
- the bridge in cobl where bono is singing "time...time...time..." -- i love the melody guitar there. similar to the "hickup" solo in electrical storm
- in the intro of aboy there's this rapid repetition of two notes with a cool effect on it in a cool rhythm. i think he layers it in a later part of the song too
- the solo and "pre-solo" in aboy are pretty badass ... kind of a blues pattern with an edge kick at the end. 3 repetitions of the bluesy riff and then edge with his signature sustained/reverb solo
- the bridge in sycmioyo is brought on with a very smooth transition ... and the melody guitar is a lot more prominant from that point onward. gives it a great "epic" feeling
- the riff beginning at 00:23 in crumbs is really pimp ... i love when edge writes songs with two part intros. i consider that point the beginning of the "second" intro
- one step closer ... beginning at 2:09 ... gives me chills

i'm sure there are many more. but i think my favorite guitar part of the whole album is the chilling high part during the chorus of oots. gives me goosebumps every time...

There are too many favorites for me to mention. I just think he did an awesome job. I'm kinda glad to hear some playing from him that he's never really done on record....more of a straight ROCK guitar. I love it. :edge:

LAPOE solo and ABOY solo as well, the guitar sounds at the start of ABOY are excellent as well.

Beautiful is the word for the guitar sound on Original Of the species, and the play out guitar on LAPOE is awesome.

City Of Blinding Lights, from 2'55 to 3'07... that sinister The Cure or New Order guitar sound...

The Vertigo main guitar riff.

Aaaaaaall Miracle Drug. It's just PERFECT.

Final double guitar riff (left & right channels) in ABOY.

LAPOE takes me back to the days of being 13 playing air guitar while listening to Bullet the blue sky.
Edge just keeps getting better and better
