i just watched that movie "saved"
it was hilarious and actually very touching,
but thats not the point. the point is that in it this girl says

"nice bono shades"

he got mentioned in this teen movie! how cool is that? its supposed to be a teen movie anyway. its got more substance than most though.
this girl was trying to escape without being recognized and she donned the "bono" shades.
it was cool!
yay!:D:D

Michael Stipe helped produce the movie, which may explain why the Bono reference is in there ;)

And speaking of obscure Bono references in movies, anyone remember Mena Suvari's line in American Beauty where she says "You want to have, like, ten thousand of his babies!" The writer says that line was inspired by a crazed fan at a U2 concert who was yelling that at Bono.

i can relate to the jesus freak friends. i was raised around a lot of them and i am a christian, just not around all the over zealous ones. my church is more liberal than most. the whole story and the characters were absolutely perfect and hilarious.
i knew michael stipe roduced it, i just never made the connection that its probably where the bono reference came from. rock on bono! youre being mentioned in teen flicks!

In the movie The Girl Next Door - U2 is not speciically mentioned but the main character's bedroom has about 3-4 elevation posters in it - the director said that he loves U2 and wants the nxt movie he directs to have nothing but U2 songs in the soundtrack
