CBC=Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
I just thought it was neat because the CBC is a fairly serious station and only occasionally talks about or plays songs by rock bands, usually Canadians. This morning I heard a discussion about the future of the symphony orchestra in Calgary, and a couple of the people were saying that symphony orchestras are kind of irrelevant because you go and you're not really allowed to participate except by applauding between pieces and so it's not that different from listening to a recording at home. Then one person said "Take rock bands...Bob Dylan, U2...they go out on tour and..." Then everyone started talking at once so I missed some of it, but I did hear "they knock your socks off!"
As for my opinion of the symphony, I like to go sometimes (especially if I get to hear a piano concerto) but I'd rather go to U2! Though I won't be on the third leg
