DVD Easter egg??? (help)

Hello,

No, I don't have the DVD yet (I'm in Europe). But I just saw this on http://www.u2log.com

Alain writes: "I just bought the Elevation Tour DVD from Best Buy, and after a finished I discovered that at the end of the making of the DVD documental, on top of dreamchaser logo there is a Bono face as the fly. If you click on the glasses (must hurry because it stays a few seconds, a ? sign shows next to it and new screen flashes. I still haven't quite found what is to be done next, but after a while I discovered that there are numbers in the pattern, and arrows that call your attention to them, the numbers are 1,9,7 and 6. However after this point I can not find something else. So it would be a nice idea to post this so more people can help solve this "riddle'."

Could this be an (the first) easter egg? So, everybody who has the DVD, you know your task!

Hmmm...well, I don't have the DVD, but 1, 9, 7, 6, could mean 1976...the year they first formed as Feedback. But that's not very exciting...maybe it has more meaning to it.

As I also don't have a normal DVD player (when I get the DVD next week I hae to play it on my DVD-ROM drive) I know nothing about DVD remote controls. But can those number maybe indicate which buttons to push on the DVD-remote?

I can get to the point where you have to click on the Bono face and it take you to that other screen with the rectangles that blink in and out. I have no idea what to do here though. You can zoom in on the visual by making boxes with your curser, but that doesn't do much. At the top left it says "//start loop" occasionally and at the bottm right it says something about a caption. If you don't do whatever it wants you to do in about a minute it takes you to the menu. Oh well, someone will crack it.

what does making boxes with the cursor mean exactly? pressifn the directional pad clockwise or counterclockwise?

I've tried punching in 1976 and 2001 and a bunch of other things.

people with DVD roms... most DVD playing softwares you can rightclick on the screen when it's playing and then look under the title and chapter menus... you should be able to access everything on the DVD directly, so that is a way to go through all the content.

I've read on the U2 newsgroups that the content is probably a full song (Elevation? UTEOTW?) with the Bono-cam. Still, nobody has said how to access it exactly...

Someone sent us a possible solution for the DVD easter egg:
"1976... you have to enter those numbers when you are on the flashing black and white squares page and you get treated to a full version of the BonoCAM in color for about 4 minutes."

This is kinda strange. I don't have the DVD (yet) as it will be released in Europe next week, but I'm looking fervently for the easter eggs.

Anyway, I've got some more info from the wire-u2 mailing list:

In order to unlock the easter egg, click on the Bono sunglasses on the Dreamchaser logo after the making of documentary, then you will be at the "slide screen.' Then you just need to type '1' then Enter, '9' then Enter, '7' then Enter and finally '6' then Enter. This will unlock a bonocam version of Elevation.

What I understand is that the second disc does have the Bono-cam of Elevation. But the version you can access in a normal way does not have the full song in Bono-cam. Again, I don't have the DVD either, this is just what I've read from various sources.

Yes, this does work... It unlocks, what is basically the raw, unaltered footage that is seen at the beginning of the show, in 'BonoCam ONLY' perspective, which includes the band taking the stage, and 'Elevation' in it's entirety. Kinda cool!...

Gaaaaah! Why can't I see this? I must be confused about something. So should it come right up on the screen after you enter those numbers? Or do you have to go back in and choose it somewhere for it to work?

Right after the last number is entered, another menu screen will pop up. There will be two options on this menu. You can either choose to watch the Bonocam clip, or 'return to the main menu'... On my DVD player, I do not have to hit 'enter' after each digit entered. I simply enter the numbers, and the menu pops up. I would assume that the rest of the 'BonoCam' clips are on there as well. Anyone come up with different numbers??

Thanks pvanort. This is so frustrating, though, because apparently my DVD player just doesn't work with this feature. I don't know. I've tried putting in the numbers a million times, and nothing happens. Grrrrrrr.

No, don't ask why I'm this interested in those Easter eggs since I haven't got the DVD. I said... don't!

Anyway, according to http://www.youtwo.net there is another Easter egg on the second DVD:

I found another Easter Egg on Disc 2 of the DVD. If you go to the section with the bonus tracks ("Stuck in a Moment" from Dublin,The PopMart clip, etc.) and try to access Title 7, you can watch "Until the End of the World" through BonoCam. Unlike the "Elevation" BonoCam on Disc 1 where Bono stayed at the front of the stage for the entire song, during "UTEOW" he moves around the heart and duels with Edge at the end.

So now we already have 2 full Bono-cam songs (Elevation & UTEOTW). What's next?

I can't fidn the easter egg on the second disk either, I've been pressing 7 and enter, allt he other numbers work for thier corresponding travcks, whate exactly is everyone else doing?
