why it's the infamous ADAM SMIRK!!! My brother has one just like it, we have SO many pictures of him growing up with this LOOK on his face in all sorts of situations, like he's just about to crack up, or he just ate the canary...

I think it's just because Adam looks at life in such a laid-back way, with lots of wry humor...always just sittin' back...ever the cool dude...trying to catch some rays...letting nothing ruffle his stylish feathers...oh yeah, attitude is everything!

Yes, this is from the first Montreal and Bono has just introduced the band as the Spice Girls. "on bass, Posh Spice" So it's the right way to honour the poshest member of the band I think, as Bono is doing it. I have a pic from the exact same moment but some metres away.
