Best Album of the 90's?

I think Automatic for the People is a much better and much more consistent album. Overall, I'd say maybe even Out of Time is better. I think of Monster as R.E.M.'s equivalent of Pop, and while I love Pop, it's not Achtung Baby or the Unforgettable Fire.

I'm just trying to guess what Lance might be thinking is the best album of the 90s. I threw that one out there because I know he likes R.E.M., and the albums I would've guessed would've been his picks had been mentioned already.

Clouds is my favorite F'lips album, but people generally think The Soft Bulletin is the best for some reason. I don't understand why.

i dont think you can compare monster with pop in any way. u2 to tried to play the music that was hip at the time on pop. r.e.m. basically continued their own style on monster, just using distortion heavily, and making michael stipe invent a few new voices, like the falsetto.

I take that back somewhat. Was listening to New Adventures today after quite some time. What a freaking kick ass album! Song after song is worthy! Pretty much same with Up and Monster too!

You know what? Fuck this! I like all 3 equally. I'm not going to compare!
