Beacon Theatre in Manhattan-Ever Been?

Has anyone been there recently?

Who did you see?
What is the venue like? (Do they sell alcohol?)
How is the subway ride from Penn Station?
Any other info that may be helpful.

My tween wants to see Kelly Clarkson there, not sure if it would be ok for us and some friends of ours to trek in, as it is an 8pm show.... Late night for returning..

it's like an old fashioned concert hall... beautiful old place.

if you take the 2 from penn it's just two stops... times square then 72nd. beacon's a couple blocks north of the 72nd street subway station right on broadway.

It's a nice place on the upper west side. No worries. You could even take a cab if you don't want to get on the subway.
