Yeah, that one doesn't do much for me, but I loved that video clip of them performing it an elevator, with the percussionist ripping out pages of a magazine in tempo, in lieu of actual percussion.

Intervention, Antichrist Television Blues, No Cars Go, My Body Is a Cage ... that's probably my favorites from that album. Keep the Car Running has never worked for me.

I still don't know why they reissued No Cars Go after they already reissued the EP. The original was fine, and the Neon Bible version didn't really add anything significant.

I prefer the NB version of No Cars Go, although I didn't hear the EP version until much later, so that might be why.

* Spoon opening

There's a big gap there between Ottawa and the Osheaga Festival in Montreal. I'm going to Osheaga and seeing The National, Stars, Black Keys, Metric, among others. So I can't wait for that!

But it's hard to believe that they won't play more Montreal dates, so I'm expecting them to add one or two in that gap. Would fit in nicely, at least for me, because I took time off to fly back to Montreal to see a certain band that postponed their tour, so seeing Arcade Fire on multiple nights would be a great alternative.

I always prefer small places, but Arcade Fire + Spoon + Madison Square Garden will be just perfect.

Intervention - Black Waves/Bad Vibrations - Ocean Of Noise. That sequence is as good as about anything off Funeral. But the rest, save for a song or two, aren't nearly as moving.

Black Mirror owns the shit out of Funeral in my opinion, save for Laika and Tunnels.

That song is so amazing and epic, it deserved posterity on a proper album. And I think it works perfectly as a penultimate rocker.

Seems like a chump move for a band to make to me I guess, regurgitating things you already went out of your way to push during the prior album. They sold No Cars Go as a single before they re-released the EP, then they just straight up play the song again in a studio and put it on the next album. Why the hell did I have to pay for the same song three times?

In addition, you may not have U2 this summer, but so far I'm not able to go to any Arcade Fire gig this year.

:crosses fingers for Denmark:

I've been thinking about this cover since mentioning it a day or two ago, and thought I'd post in case there are peeps who haven't heard it. Possibly one of the Arcade Fire tracks I've listened to the most.

Yes! Thank you.

Absolutely, and the NB version has a sort of forward momentum and epic structure to it, unlike the EP version, which sounds like a funeral dirge. I'm happy with both, but the NB version ruled over a short part of my life.

First time I've heard this one...pretty good! Magnetic Fields any good? Can't say I've heard anything by them:reject:

I'm really looking forward to some new Arcade Fire.

This is one band that I really burned out on after the first two albums...in fact I was looking at my last.fm and Arcade Fire is in my top 3 artists overall, but not even in my top 60 artists of the last 12 months. I just needed a break, but now I'm excited to hear what their 3rd album has to offer, and I hope to catch them live this time around.

I can't say the two new songs really did anything for me yet...but I have yet to hear a quality version of either.

FYI, if you pre-order the album from the band's site, you get immediate access to the downloads for the two "singles". It also comes with a download of the album, so I assume they'll give access to that early (at least I hope that's the case).

Uh, the only problem with that is that they charge $4.95 shipping and handling to US addresses, so the album ends up costing $18 total.

Yeah..... they probably should have thought that through. What's the upside of ordering directly from the band, when you can get it less expensive at every retail establishment in existence? Hell, I can buy the two singles from them and the album from someone else, and still save money versus if I bought the album from them.

a couple of secret shows in Montreal over the wkend according to Us Kids Know website.

How exciting! :hyper:
