Here is a special message from Affa, bassist/manager of the all-girl U2 tribute band EXIT:

Hello, all!

I really want to say a few things... I really want to say some things... I guess because it is so close to the one-year anniversary of Exit?s first gig--Karen's U2LA U2 SNL Viewing Party. That was our first show...our first time performing in front of people. We received such a wonderful response and since then have been encouraged so much by you all.

We have been through so much this year: you saw us get on U2.com and you also got to see U2 play with Courtney--that must have been so exciting for them.

You saw us through many changes and have really seen a change in us as musicians. We have developed so much as a band because of the constant encouragement we have received from you. You have motivate us to strive for so much more!

I just really want to thank everyone for their continued support of Exit. So many of you have come to more than one show and always seem so excited for us. Some of you (you know who you are) have been to every one of Exit?s shows or almost all of them. So many times, no matter how far or how late, you guys still show up...and we love you for that. Thank you so much for all the beautiful, encouraging posts you write after the shows...those words really touch us all very much. I would love to name names but there really are so many of you who have really always been there for us--dancing, singing... smiling at us... just having a good time... and after our shows giving us even more... your enthusiasm is so much more then we could expect. I truly am so overwhelmed sometimes by your responses and that means so much to us...just the continued support...the support you would expect normally only from family. We want to give you back what you have given to us.

Sorry if I'm rambling, it's just there is so much I want to say... and a lot of emotion in what I want to say... and it is hard to be personal in an email...to lots of people. I want to just hug and say thanks in person to all of you. U2 fans are amazing...you are all amazing! Thank you! I am so glad that through U2 we have all had a chance to really get to know each other and to really develop some true lasting friendships.

If you want to come and you can come, I would like to invite you all to our next Exit show. I would like to give back to you what you have given to me and rock out with each and every one of you!!!!!!!!! And you don't even have to line up! Anyway, I think it's time for U2 fans to take over the pier again!!

What a great email from Affa...Sparky, watch out!

I was so happy that I was lucky enough to catch Exit's last show at the HRC in Newport Beach, Calif., just after the LA3 show (thanks to Moonie!). I'd been hearing about the girls for so long, and I was dying to find out what all the hubbub was about. They didn't disappoint! Their gig, while short, and even with the glitch of the HR not allowing anyone under 21 into the place, kept the crowd rocking and cheering like we were seeing the real U2 on stage. It was highlighted by Nikki, the singer, making a lap around the inside of the HRC during Streets, ala Bono! It was hilarious!

They are four really talented, sweet gals, and I was so excited when I heard about Courtney (Captive) got on stage to play with Bono and Edge...I also stood right behind Courtney, second row at the rail at the LA3 show (bless you Courtney for being shorter than me, I had a great view!). I was also thrilled to see them in the VH-1 pre-show! The fact that U2 now knows about them has the gals pretty excited...

It's my fervent wish that some day when Edge is in town, and Exit has a gig, that he'll slip in to watch the girls perform. Of course, they'd have to try really hard not to faint over it.

If you're lucky enough to be out there on the 15th, GO SEE THEM! You won't be disappointed!

Great pics Disco!

Exit is awesome, I plan to catch them at Rustys on the 15th, should be an awesome show. I wonder if they'll do the U2 Christmas song (Baby Please Come Home). That would be cool!

Also, in those Exit pictures you can see ELVIS taping them on his camcorder!

Speaking of U2 knowing the girls, there are few stories that we're tring to get up on u2lafans.com. One that sticks out right now is about The Edge having one of our flyers for the Hard Rock show on Nov 23rd in his guitar case:

Captive, Affa and Dim went to the Van Nuys Airport to see the boys off to Phoenix when Dallas comes up to her and says, "Hey, aren't you in Exit?" Captive, in shock, goes, "Yeah!" Dallas said that Edge had found one of their flyers on a telephone poll outside Staples and he put it in his guitar case!

So, Edge comes along, see's Captive and gives her a big hug (one of many--that's another bunch of stories) and asks, "How's the band?" Cap, don't ask me how, calmly explains to him that they are doing U2 covers and hope to do ther own stuff soon; meanwhile, the fans are pawing at Edge so as he's dragged away he says, "good luck!"

Next thing we know, one of our U2LAers--I think Donna--goes to Phoenix and holds up a sign saying, "Hello From The EXIT Girls!" Edge looks down and says, "Hey, simultaneous shows." Both Exit and U2 had shows on Friday, Nov 23rd and Edge remembered this from the flyer that was in his case!

Even hard for us to believe, but it's all true.
