I know many here aren't huge Rush fans like myself... But Rock and Roll lost a God this week RIP Neil Peart.. "Get on you're way Hit the open road theres magic at your fingers,"

Agreed! But don't do a tour with a "narrative", I'm kinda getting sick of all that. Just go out and play. Do a handful of new songs from the new album, throw in some warhorses but also play some deep tracks on a rotational basis.

I know this kinda derails the topic being discussed but has MERCY ever been officially released in any form? There's one version that I like so much on YouTube but never liked the later versions. I wondered if anyone else here thinks it was a good song with potential and maybe showing up on a...

I liked the last two albums enough but they're not even cracking the top 50% of my U2 album rankings. I'm disappointed that they are working with Ryan Tedder. I've said in the past I wonder what another collaboration with Eno and Lanois would produce. But in a way I will be pumped for a new release.

    Reflecting on Year post-2000 albums

Wow... This is interesting, I'm going to try this right now. This is a good thread idea .... ATYCLB is still my favorite of all the later albums. Just the Post 9/11 shows and how much this album meant to me personally makes it win for me.

Ongoing Mass Shooting Thread #3... that's right, a third thread. Because 'Murica.

Sad that this keeps happening and there's no amount of legislation that will be enacted to banning or cutting back the guns that are out on the streets right now. I have a couple of friends in law enforcement and it's tantamount to trying to put toothpaste back into the tube it came out of.

    Tension between band members

I'm not sure about their feeling towards each other in general but in all of the shows I've attended I've seen Edge get pissed at Bono: Vertigo Tour - I went to see so many shows that tour but I want to say it was at Hartford and during the guitar solo during PITNOL Bono had the crowd singing...

    U2/Bono Song in Volkswagen Commercial

Not sure if anyone else saw this but during the British Open golf coverage they played a Volkswagen commercial and in the background was that song that U2 played before coming on stage where Bono is singing "I'm Movin' On Up." Two questions, firstly did anyone else see this? Secondly, what was...

LP15 - We're due for a break from the norm

I think the difference between Coldplay and U2 at this point is at least Coldplay kinda knows who they are. They know who their fans are and what they like and they somewhat deliver. I liked there early stuff and really can't stand their later stuff and that's neither here nor there. While U2...

LP15 - We're due for a break from the norm

At this point I'm hearing he's smoldering but of course that could turn into a fire at any moment, also, he's playing muzak from Jupiter so he's not quite getting to punk rock from Uranus... but he's close. All very promising signs though....

LP15 - We're due for a break from the norm

I wasn't aware that MUZAK was still a thing when I heard ISHFWILF yesterday in Dr's office. So I was thinking maybe Eno & Lanois could produce a Best Of in MUZAK form.

LP15 - We're due for a break from the norm

Maybe I'm just looking back to the Eno/Lanois years probably with rose colored glasses but wouldn't it be something if they caught "lightening in a bottle" and went out with a bang with the old collaborators.

LP15 - We're due for a break from the norm

I still think if they gave everyone the opportunity to download it for free that would have been a lot better. This is one thing they did was indefensible I would think. What I can't believe is people still remember it to this day.
