Does anyone else think these are the same song? The guitar sounds similar and the chorus of both songs does sound quite similar? Is it possible that mercy is an early version of MD that got shortened. Maybe this shows U2 selling out, by taking an epic song and making a 'less' song

I've got a copy of Robbie Williams covering Beautiful day without the massive backing tracks, and it sounds really kl. With bono's voice in it would sound really quite special and diffrent. i think u2 should give it a go sometime. If anyone wants a copy let me know.. dave
