    The Witch has reached 80

Here are a few reasons why she is so hateful 1. Her government single handedly destroyed entire communities through her decimation of the mining industry, resulting now in areas of extremely high drug use and crime. These were people who very much knew of the 'hard work' you speak of and she...

    The Witch has reached 80

I am not in the slightest bit bothered by the use of the word bitch when describing Thatcher. I lived under her policies in Scotland and bitch is what she was...

    Couldn't give a toss.

Then I must be a shite U2 fan too. I saw them first in '83 and caught quite a few shows on the Joshua Tree tour , then at least one or two each tour since but one is enough for me now. Maybe I'm just getting old, or grudge paying inflated prices for a concert ticket but I'm happy with my lot and...

    What about "Crumbs"?

Electrical Storm AND Crumbs???? Now that WILL be some concert! Let's hope they choose to play them at the one I'm going to in Glasgow!

    u2 v's simple minds

Saw Simple Minds in Glasgow Barrowlands and Ibrox Stadium in the 80s. I take your point, Stupidboy, about their subsequent demise. I saw them a few years ago in Edinburgh and it was pretty average. But these two concerts were, even now, two of the best I've seen!

    Ireland's top 25 songs

I may be wrong but I think both Van Morrison and The Undertones are Northern Irish and maybe the list refers to Southern Irish bands?

    Obscenely depressing albums

I don't see The Smiths as a sad band at all. Morrisey's lyrics are often quite hilarious to me as well as being beautifully sad. For a truly depressing album, try Nebraska by Springsteen...

a loving God and the Tsunami

joyfulgirl, how can the death of 120,000 people, 40% of whom are children, be part of "perfection" or some sort of "unconditional love"?? I fail to see how a father or mother who watched their child slip from their grasp to be swallowed by the sea would find comfort in the idea that their...

    U2 in Scotland

No...£75 just for me! The tickets were all sold out before we even knew anything about the tour and my friends and I were forced to search ebay! It was worth it as the concert was great but I'll be loathed to spend that much this time round. Part of me can't see how U2 can possibly , as...

Pleba Ladies: What's OK to Ask a Girl About?

Well, you need to decide... before someone falls in love with you and you break her heart! Don't be scared! Being in love is much better than being in lust! (Although a bit of both is the bees knees!!!)

    U2 in Scotland

Nope...nothing on the ticket stubb. I have a feeling I missed the support act anyway. However, the cost of going to see U2 in 1983 was an unbelievable £4!!! I paid £75 to see them at the SECC on the last tour!

    U2 in Scotland

It was definitely The Waterboys in 1984 but I can't remember who the support was in '83. Will dig out the ticket stubb and see if it says. 68 guns will never die!!!:applaud:

    Bono and his brother

I am bemused as to why anyone would want to know about Bono's relationship with his brother or anyone for that matter!!!I mean, is it our business, stuff like this ...? Do any of us even know the "real" Bono...? I find all this talk about Bono+Ali/his dad/mother/children/Auntie Aggie a bit...
