SOE 35 - it’s finally here, let the debate on how good/bad it is begin!

On first listen now - kept stumbling into the lousy rip (the 63MB copy where it sound like someone was recording off a mic pointed at their computer speakers) all day and told myself I wouldn't listen through till I found a good one.. then I found the good one with the bonus tracks. First...

    The Blackout (Jacknife Lee Remix)

Got the RSD single - love The Blackout in general - spending $13 US on basically one song felt a little.. uhh.. unique.. but I've done worse. Spent probably $20ish back in the late 90s for the Batman Forever soundtrack solely for HMTMKMKM. The remix feels Pop-era to me - there's some synth...

Driving to Midnight Mass in Dublin - long version?

Figured it out - it was a mashup of the original recording of Driving... and the USA/Kevorkian mix of New Year's Day. Still not sure where the Loft got it from. Mods you can delete this thread.

Driving to Midnight Mass in Dublin - long version?

Tried scouring youtube and googling for this but came up with no answers - When I was driving home from work today I had The Loft (Sirius station) on and to my surprise they were playing Bono's rendition of Driving to Midnight Mass in Dublin Christmas Eve, but unlike the versions on youtube...

    Paris #4 Setlist Party

That was so awesome! Kudos U2 and EoDM for working this out. After watching the interview on Vice, I didn't know if Jesse and co would have the mental strength to get back on stage this quick, never mind in Paris. Fun watching Jesse rock a stage that big - especially using the ramp and...

Song For Someone - Song Discussion

Co-worker of mine in an adjacent cube usually has a radio on tuned to a station that plays basically Top 40 and mixes in classics from about the mid-80s forward (i.e. A-Ha, Journey, Wham). SfS came on today and I was pleasantly surprised.

Name the album you just bought, part whatever + 6

Out here in Phoenix, Zia Records was running a fantastic Labor Day weekend sale - buy 3 used get the 4th free - any mix of CDs, vinyl, books and/or DVDs.. went in with my wife on a batch at one store on Saturday and then did another haul today at a different location:) Used the sale to support...

May 23rd, 2015 - Phoenix, AZ, US Airways Center

Not sure how experiences in other sections were but the crowd around my row were really into the show - probably more so than previous tours I've seen shows on - were singing and dancing along to everything. Was in a higher up row in 123 which allowed for a great side view of the main stage...

    Phoenix #1 Setlist Party

Going to tomorrow's Phoenix show - hoping for a special Joshua Tree snippet (or even full song) outside of the staples, given that their travels in the desert southwest inspired that album in part.

May 22, 2015 - Phoenix, AZ - US Airways Center

Short answer, not likely overly congested due to the D-Backs games - their attendance is generally pretty weak. I did have a co-worker of mine tell me that getting in and out of the downtown area when there is a big arena show going on is pretty hectic - not the best traffic flows/only a couple...

    Album that Created your Fandom!

Album that got me started on U2 - Rattle and Hum, my dad had a cassette copy that he played in the car a lot - and I came to like it a lot. Album that turned them into my favorite band - Pop - I remember buying it at Borders the day it came out or thereabouts, and then listened to it all the...

May 23, 2015 - Phoenix, AZ - US Airways Center

First post I guess - going solo - wife is fan, but not a fan enough to go to an arena show. Will be 6th time I've seen them live - one on Elevation and 360, and three on Vertigo. Arena was recently renamed the Talking Stick Resort Arena (same group owns a casino/resort of the same name here).

    Opening act?

Seen them five times: Elevation - PJ Harvey (had a friend at the time who was a big PJ Harvey fan - when I told her PJH opened, my friend was very jealous.. but I thought the performance was pretty awful) Three times on Vertigo - First was Kings of Leon (well before they had any popularity and...

New Mute Math album in the works

The album leaked yesterday. It's very good. I thought without Greg there wouldn't be as much guitar- maybe more keys, but there's a lot of guitar, jammy parts, lots of everything I like about Mutemath

Kasabian singer hated touring with U2

I was at Boston 1 on 360. When I found out that SP was opening I was ecstatic- I had become a fan of theirs when Run got some airplay in the US. They didn't disappoint- Gary had his usual banter going and good spirits- the audience finishing Shut Your Eyes was an example of the good that can...

What bands (other than U2) are you really digging right now?

...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead- new album is out today, easily my favorite of the year so far. Were on Jimmy Fallon last night. Belle and Sebastian- didn't listen to Write About Love enough when it came out, been giving it a few spins lately.

Opening Acts 2010 - Lenny Kravitz, Interpol, The Fray and more

Little bit late here- but someone uploaded SPs full set from Sept 20 on youtube, really good sound quality too.

    Numb is an experimental disaster

The Emergency Broadcast Network version of Numb is awesome, all the techno backing just adds another dimension to the original.

    Best U2 support act?

    1. Snow Patrol- Foxboro 9/20. Just awesome, my second favorite band to U2- though their set list was hits heavy, they played Open Your Eyes which is my favorite song and means a lot to me lyrics-wise. Also the crowd soaked up Gary's personality, and doing a sing along to the chorus on Shut Your...

    Leaving Gilette Stadium

Relaying my experience- parked in lot 11- figured to get back to 495 it would be easier to park on that side of the road. After the show made it back to the car easily, and began to leave and stopped dead for almost 45 minutes with little/no movement. At one point I noticed a lot of cars turning...

    September 20, 2009 - Gilette Stadium Foxboro - Massachusetts

Awesome show, had reserved seats towards the front of 326- near the overhang so the view was perfect. Surprise songs- New Years Day and Mysterious Ways (full version- not the choppy one from early in the tour). Bono let the crowd take over a lot of singing tonight- more than full verse in...

    2010 Leg

For a CT show, Rentschler Field in Hartford where Springsteen has played holds 40,000; while not Hartford the Yale Bowl in New Haven holds about 64,000 and has held concerts before.

    Your Most Valuable U2 Item?

Monetary-wise my Gibson Explorer that's the same dark rosewood color as Edge's. Sentimentality wise, my photos from the three Vertigo shows I went to. Ahh memories:)

    new Sonic Youth- The Eternal

Yup, it's out there. Supposedly it's a webrip, but the quality is really good. I like Rather Ripped, it's my go to SY when I want some good songs and less experimentation.
