    U2 vrs. Eagles tour

That's your opinion. I'm talking about facts here. And btw, I agree that The Eagles are the shits. But so is U2 nowadays and IMO they couldn't be less relevant if they tried.

    U2 vrs. Eagles tour

The Eagles and U2 are not the biggest bands in the world. Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones are. The Eagles and U2 would be third and fourth however. Anyways, The Eagles have sold more albums in the US (85 Million+) than U2 (50 Million+), but not worldwide: U2 - 135 Million The Eagles - 120...

Is there a Nov.5th show in Vegas?

There'll be a second show added for the next night. But not because there's demand for one at current prices. But because there's no return engagements in San Diego and Phoenix.

    Hits Week 19

You didn't read what I said. And The Division Bell's 16 country total was 7 Million copies sold...and that was years ago. And we all know how many countries there are in the world, don't we? It's not too far fetched to believe that it's sold 10 Million copies worldwide to date. Yes it is true...

    Hits Week 19

Ok, let's get a few things straight here. First of all, Squire: Thank you for your wisdom. You provide objectivity on this forum. And that's more than I can say for many of the people here. Btw, did you know that Floyd sold 140,000 tickets for two nights at Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon on...

    Hits Week 19

Your point? In order to do that, they'd have to average at least 42,000 per week. LOL Maybe you should check your facts? I'm talking about worldwide.

    Hits Week 19

That's only because HTDAAB was only priced at between $7.99-$10.99 in it's debut week in many retail outlets. If it had been priced at a higher regular price, it wouldn't have sold anywhere near that amount in week 1 and at this time. In fact, it would be lower than AYCLB's sales when comparing...

    Week 18

Re: Re: Re: What are you talking about? The RIAA only certifies album in the US. And HTDAAB hasn't sold anywhere near 8 Million copies to consumers yet - it's at less than 7.5 Million right now. It will have by the end of the Spring though.

    Week 18

Re: What are you talking about? You can cloud the issue all you want. And most of what you've said above I already know. But it's a fact that AYCLB sold 10.8 Million copies worldwide, as of January 2005. Trying to tell me something about the music industry is like showing me what 1+1 equals...

That's just not true. And you know it.

    Week 18

I'll take Billboard's figure over your conjectured, fudging the facts data. The rest of the 5-10% is extrapolated - you know that.

    Week 18

Maybe to retailers but not to consumers.

    Week 18

According to Billboard, as of January 2005, AYCLB has sold 10.8 Million copies (to customers) worldwide.

Would U2 be able to make another stadium tour in America?

I don't know where you're getting the 138 shows for the Licks tour. Because Soldatti is right, there were 115 shows. And the above North American shows you've listed are included in the total amount of tickets sold for this tour (minus the SARS Benefit show), which was 2.970 Million.

Would U2 be able to make another stadium tour in America?

But I found on another message board, your stats read that this particular tour including the SARS benefit show totaled 3.460 Million tickets sold. So subtracting that from the SARS benefit show is roughly 2.970 Million. Yeah, that's true. It's quite confusing. I think it's because they had to...

Would U2 be able to make another stadium tour in America?

There are a few minor inconsistances in these figures. But they're mainly right. For example, for the Licks tour in 2002-03: the attendance was really slightly less than 3 Million, not 3.5 Million. 496,000+ of the additional tickets were from the SARS Benefit concert. So the actual average...

Would U2 be able to make another stadium tour in America?

That's totally incorrect. The Rolling Stones are a larger draw than U2, period. The Stones have always had higher prices than U2. And for example, on their last tour in 2002-03, they charged an average of $105 worldwide. U2's average ticket price in 2001 was $67 worldwide. This year U2's average...

To bad ticket prices are so high on this tour!!

Floyd have sold more albums than Zeppelin have. If you look at Zep's certifications, you'd have to decrease their US and worldwide total for their double and triple albums that were certified after 1997 because of the RIAA counting them as more than one unit sale. Zeppelin's total sales then...

To bad ticket prices are so high on this tour!!

A few weeks back, Billboard stated the gross amount U2's made on the first two legs of the Vertigo tour. And $90 average is the European leg average price. Let me know when you've studied that stats thoroughly. Because Floyd have had at least four albums sell well over 10 Million copies each...

To bad ticket prices are so high on this tour!!

It hasn't for changed years, for the reasons I've stated countless times. The numbers don't lie. I have countless times in countless threads. I guess you haven't read them? Ok, done. Guess what? It stil holds up. Kind of alright? I guess that almost cuts it. I don't believe I've broken...

To bad ticket prices are so high on this tour!!

I wouldn't say that. The Division Bell's 16 country total a few years back was over 7 Million copies sold. Now we all know how many countries are in the world, don't we? Also I'm sure that the album has hit 10 Million sold worldwide, I just can't prove it. For a band who's still officially...

Get some what? You obviously haven't read my post history. Oh, and I like how you glazed over the fact that I've gone over everything you posted in detail. If there's anything I've missed that you've said, please enlighten me... Hmm, let's see. Quantity and popularity over quality is what...

I'm not being rude. And don't think you can intimidate me, because you can't. And if you've read the majority of my posts, they're not about Floyd.

To bad ticket prices are so high on this tour!!

    1) Floyd being the Biggest Band is a fact, as I've shown you. 2) The last time I checked, this was a democracy.
