    U2 live vs. Coldplay live

I have seen Coldplay in every type of venue -- club, amphitheatre, arena, etc. and seen them on every tour. Each show was good, the club shows being better. But I never leave those shows inspired at all, or in awe for that matter. I leave a U2 show as if I had just gone through a religious...

    Ok I lied... (Lottery Poll)

I don't believe I said fans didn't have an opportunity to be front row Ellipse. I'll do my best to be as unbiased as I can (but to be honest this is still my personal opinion): Fans did have an opportunity to be front row of course, that wasn't my point. But most, do not. (k I have to be a bit...

    A few concert questions

    1. Well, Bono never explicitly says "that's my father up there", but it is certainly implied and I think we are supposed to think so. But as far as Bono acting as if he is walking with his father, he may have done that at your particular show ... but I don't recall seeing that. 2. He changes...

    Ok I lied... (Lottery Poll)

This simply does not pan out. How is the Ellipse a separate entity? It is not. The concert and GA floor is one singular unit. The Ellipse, which is obviously a large premium area, should not be reserved for lottery winners or VIP. I think saying that the Ellipse is a separate sectopn is the...

A Good Time To Line Up?

Well, let's assume you don't get into the Ellipse, then you'd ideally want a rail spot. So, to get a rail spot I would line up around 8:00 or 9:00 to be sure. But, if you get into the Ellipse I'm sure your spot will be amazing either way. Mike

    Ellipse lottery no luck needed?

This statement in itself is such a trite generalization. Firstly, how many hardcore fans (20+ shows) are at each show? Barely any. And secondly, the majority of people I have spoken to for the four GA lines that I have been in all unanimously oppose the lottery system. I'm not professing to have...

    Ellipse lottery no luck needed?

Haha, I remember my friend and I were going to offer people cash for their Ellipse spot for Toronto #3, we got scanned in so no big deal. But anyways, my opinion: I see no fathomable way that the security doing scanning choose in any way who gets in. However, I do believe that in some cases...

was bono disappointed last night (12/4)?

I cannot express to you what the Montreal audience was like. I attended both shows (front row center 11/26, a couple rows beyond the Ellipse for 11/28). These shows demonstrated phenomenal energy. But it was very respectful energy ... for instance, Bono got the arena's undivided attention during...

Boston III Setlist Watch, Stream, and Party Part III

After Bad on Montreal 1, I was convinced they were coming back. The show was beyond amazing, the crowd amazingly loud, and the lights were still on for longer then they've ever had. If Boston gets Mofo, I will erupt into a jeaouls fit. Mike

    Why so much Boston availability?

As was said above, the Montreal & Toronto market was quite the opposite. While you could score a Toronto ticket for $250 or so, tickets for Montreal were brutal to come by. Scalpers were asking $400 a ticket. The assessment above about the 'amateur' scalpers is also very true.

    What was Arcade Fire's setlist?

Setlist for Montreal 1 was: Wake Up Laika No Cars Go Tunnels Haiti Crown of Love Neighbourhood 3 Power Out > Rebellion Lies During Montreal 2, the band walked the ellipse at the end of Rebellion then near the tip walked through the entire floor (with no security around them). It was a...

MERGED-->U2 are moving to Montreal???? + This just in.

I don't know what you're talking about. I speak about fifteen words of French, and I've lived here over a year. Other than the occasional frustrating Subway employee who can't understand what to put on my sub, I rarely have any translation problems. Mike

    u2 Tickets

Well face tickets are a bit steep, no doubt. But I'm not really complaining, cause I try for GA every time. Although, like most people, it's tough to be successful each time. I dropped $500 for a pair to Montreal 11/26, and $200 for a GA for 11/28. Lots of money ... and money that I don't have...

    wheres miracle drug?

Oh Lord, I hope so! My two least favorite songs on the setlist. Mike

Did knowing the setlist in advance, spoil the concert for you?

Yes and No. Before Toronto 3, I deliberately didn't look at the setlists of Toronto 1 or 2, and even though I had a good idea of the setlist, I was still surprised (and went beyond insane for Out of Control). But for Toronto 4, I ended up studying the setlist practically. So I knew the order of...

GA tickets released day of show?

This definitely is a relevant topic, I tried to bring it up a week or so ago. My personal experience is that tickets being released day-of is SUCH a wild card. Sometimes you get lucky, but the unfortunate reality is that most of the time you won't. I was at the Toronto show, and I think I heard...

Would You still Attend Multiple Shows....

Absolutely. I saw them twice in Toronto, and I've paid to get scalped for Montreal X2. U2 are truly the best live band ever. Smashing Pumpkins have been my favorite band all my life, about 10 years now, and I've seen them several times. But I would still take a U2 show over a Pumpkins any day...

    using ellipse wristband twice

Well this topic is reminiscent of the one a couple days ago that was locked. By this is too tempting not to throw my two cents in here. Personally, I don't give a shit if someone sneaks into the Ellipse. If they are stealing someone elses spot, then I see the problem. But I really don't think...

    GA/Ellipse Wristbands - Please Help

Frankly I agree. I think if you're not hurting anyone, get in the Ellipse ... and to be honest, I don't even really care if people sneak onto the floor. There's tons of room anyways. (I'm applying this "if youre not hurting anyone" mentality ONLY to these U2 shows). I got into the Ellipse...

Sure, I agree in that case. But I was referring to those who actually have GA tickets in my initial post. Mike

    GA/Ellipse Wristbands - Please Help

I completely disagree. I've had the fortune of seeing U2 a couple times this tour (GA for both) and I've gotten into the Ellipse once, and "cheated" to get in the second time. In all honesty, I don't feel a shred of guilt. I know, for a fact, that at the ACC (Toronto), they hold a fair amount of...
